Has anyone taken a bus to another city like for a vacation?  I'm thinking of taking a bus from Chicago to St. Louis to hang with a friend for a weekend.  What is it like riding in a bus?  Good times??

my friend did this and the bus driver fell asleep while driving and almost killed all of them, luckily someone started screaming and it woke him back up before he got all the way off the road

It was a girl but it was a fairly long trip.  But yeah I've heard stories about drivers falling asleep or things like that and I would much rather be in charge of my own driving (since I know when I'M sleepy) or fly since pilots have slightly stricter requirements to have their jobs.

edit: forgot about this at first but when i was 10 my mom and i took a bus trip to new york and the driver was a little old man who constantly had to stop for bathroom breaks so your 6 hour trip could easily turn into a much longer one

yeah i'd much rather be in a tiny car on the road surrounded by all those narcoleptic bus drivers

the other passengers on the bus tend to be the worst part, otherwise they're pretty cool and some have television and stuff

buses are fine, if there are movies they probably suck so bring a book or music, do not make eye contact or engage in conversation with your neighbors, don't fall asleep or someone might cut your head off!!!!

I ride the bus from New Hampshire to Central New York every coupla months. It's not so bad. I generally don't have a neighbor and just sleep or look out the window the entire time (no movies, reading in a moving vehicle gives me headaches idk why, and just got an ipod recently).

It's pretty pleasant actually. It generally takes between 7-14 hours depending on the buses course and where in New York I go to.

First time I went to Syracuse which is about an hour away from my town. We also went through Utica, which is an hour away on the OTHER side. It added 2 whole hours to my journey. That sucked hard.

No drive because a: it's super boring (imo) and b: I've never really had experience driving on highways and expressways...etc

No plane because a: too much money and b: too close for plane...no point in taking a plane if the trip by car is only 6 hours.

Maybe train but tickets are like 80 bucks compared to a bus ticket which is 20 round trip.

Also if I do go I'd bring a book and mp3 player.

i ran into The Truth on somethingawful

fuckin lol he's dumb

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

i'm not entirely sure it's the same truth though.

Petey man I mean I know your gimmick these days is "try to be in the middle of all sa doings nyaaaa" or whatever.

Like you made THE WEBSITE THAT WILL NOT BE NAMED or whatever even though you were a v bad helldump poster, somehow you post on the frontpage even though you are not funny, and you still continue to post in lf even though the good posters who are not former al aqsa really don't like you....

How do you manage to get yourself into every fad even though you are just a very tertiary person who is not funny.
