and yeah I think it's more like esp. with the internet there's so much stuff like there are whole entire chunks of it that nobody should need to be exposed to to be entertained ever. I mean like cheesy casual flash games and RUNESCAPE or something. But it's still like there challenging your whole notion of what is entertaining. It's all epic rpg stuff so it should be enjoyable right??? are all mmorpgs like an rpg without the town parts so it's basically the battle parts that were meant to artificially extend the game, and the battle parts go on forever I guess (I've never played an mmo tbh)
also why the fuck are there 225,762 apps or whatever amount exists. The iphone sounds like the game boy color but a million times worse and more evil. Like I need to look up a list of game boy color games sometime because I clearly remember it was like shitty game boy adaptation of every stupid movie + nickelodeon show + barbie but then even more categories of crap in addition like a whole game where it's just SHOT PUT called shot put champion or something (only for game boy color)
so imo it's more of a problem of a bunch of stuff having a pretense of being entertaining/fulfilling and it's just gotten a thousand times worse with 500 cable channels + internet + fuck knows. I think I lucked out pretty good growing up during that time when everything on nickelodeon was generally good but sometimes I'm confused how I was able to locate generally good games like BLASTER MASTER stuff that wasn't ubiquitous like Mario I guess they had rentals too but how did I not get stuck with 30 copies of KICK MASTER or some crappy game like that. We had a lot of the CLASSICS and not just obvious shit like metroidvania
so yeah I think it's a sort of exhaustion I think someone said that like is it just me who can't enjoy anything. I miss shit from the 90's (maybe older Simpsons) that tried to make tv look absolutely hideous like esp. game shows like I don't care if now they're playing against 5th graders so it's interesting you still have the right to think all gameshows are bullshit
lol I do think DVDs of TV shows should have little commercial segments inbetween, not enough to be annoying just accepting commercials as part of the FLOW of the show. Like one commercial is ok
yeah I dunno though I was never into just being entertained, letting something/someone entertain me. I always drew or wrote or something and I was into Simcity-type stuff. And I have something like 200 songs now since I started doing that. So maybe I'm not the best person to ask
but also computer is a horrible medium for experiencing anything. I've done/tried so much bullshit to get a decent sound out of it
but actually that's a good point though. Like how I was saying we had a lot of the classic nes games, have you watched anything in recent times that you would call a CLASSIC or does it just feel like a word that's thrown around. And do you think if you called it that you would almost accept it as one
