you should check out Against the Grain which tends to get a little further out of the boundaries of polite discourse and gets a little deeper into more specific issues

i haven't followed democracy now or anything lately, really, because i got so repelled from the whole thing when i decided to quit my politics degree but i think it's probably time i started dipping my nose into the pool of news again

yeah, shows like this one are what you watch if you want to be depressed Actually I have this same problem, except it only applies to shows I vehemently disagree with. like pretty much anything on right wing tv. I absolutely can't stand the idea of people listening to that stuff and actually believing every word. but I really want to become more acquainted with it anyway, just to analyze their arguments and style a bit deeper.
