"You gunna keep me honest!?" I love how outraged he is that he's being asked to substantiate his claims. What the hell was his plan here? I was reading a transcript of this and it's completely crazy

For the sake of my sanity I usually avoid televised news, but thank god for youtube so I can get these little morsels.

yeah, this is one particularly hilarious example. it's not just some no-name blogger either, it's a republican congressman. this is what and how politicians today communicate to their constituents.

not just the HOW is funny, but also the WHAT. he's actually saying muslims come here to have babies, who then grow up to visit the middle east or africa to get their terrorist license, then come back (as they're US citizens) and ATTACK. he's using this theory to try and make a case for repealing the 14th amendment. you know, the one that guarantees that people born in the US are actually granted the rights of a US citizen(and as such was an important asset to african americans even long before the civil rights movement). as part of his proof he quotes a comment made on Cooper's blog by a guy named Tony.

"the explosions will not happen for 10, 15, 20 years. and then you will be one of those blips."

Anderson Cooper: Are you willing to have a conversation or do you wanna just yell?

*beat*

*Cooper says something but Gohmert starts yelling again*
