It's incomplete because I didn't finish, like, any of the towns, on account of it taking me so long just to learn how to make the game. I decided it'd be good just to make it playable to the end and worry about that kind of stuff on my second game, where I already know how to make the game and can spend more years working on maps. Which, my mapping is not so good. But, that wasn't my focus when making the game.
The screenshots weren't prepared ahead of time... They were of flashbacks (hence the black and white) to events that the hero remembers (decided to just put the characters from the flashbacks that the hero remembers more than everything that was involved).
Yeah, I got good reviews on my battle scene though. Don't really fully understand it myself. :P I mean, it is a bunch of 16 bit sprites just running around on cue.
The story is the only thing that I worked on really. Everything else is just a side portion to it. Even so, I didn't get comfortable with making the story and dialogue until near the end of the game. Heck, the beginning is so friggin' cluttered, I couldn't fix it without remaking the whole game. But, eh, whatcha gonna do?
And, if the player wants to read everything here, they can. It's not really that relevant to the story. Everything they read here can be learned by playing the game or isn't relevant to the story (for the most part). I actually just made a post with more useless information cuz I figured most people aren't going to bother reading a lot about the post anyways.
And yes... the maps are awful... There's no way I can argue that. xD If I set out to be a spriter or a mapper, maybe I'd take offense to that. But, really, I'm not... I have made some custom sprites and stuff, but I'm not that good and I'd rather focus more on the story.
On a different forums, I got pretty good reviews for my dialogue... I probably shouldn't have posted the screenshots, or at least prepared better ones. :B
Maybe I'm in the wrong place with this. But, eh, whatever.
