Hello!
As you can see on
the mainsite GW7 has been launched. We are happy about this, and without going into too much detail about our ideas we will say that GW is now entirely service-based. What this means is that the community is - or at least will be, when we have even more to offer - divided into sub-sections that are to be connected by the mainpage portal. Right now we have a blog, and in time we hope to be able to add game development resources such as graphical resources, a devlog system and other interesting functions that will cater to our userbase's needs. All future functions will be available in the black bar at the top which will be displayed on both the forums and the mainsite once everything is done.
How does this differ from GW6? Well, instead of depending on user-written content we have decided to feature news and articles from around the web while still keeping a portion of the site for featured community projects and articles. This means that we won't have any staffers at all (yet), but we will feature any good article, game or other type of creative effort that we come across here. Should you feel like contributing, all you'll have to do is PM or e-mail an admin, or post a written contribution in the form of a topic and we will probably pick it up. In fact, there will probably be a lot of featured content that weren't intended to be in the first place. :)
So that's the gist of it! I could write more, but I think this sums up the direction of the site pretty good.
Welcome to GW7, and I hope you'll enjoy being a part of the community.
Thanks to:ASE, Bart, ramirez and leafo. Also the people who spent time making graphics for the mainsite.
