I like to play games so I use a wired keyboard and mouse. I didn't want to spend a lot of money unnecessarily and mostly rage bought them because my wireless set was dropping signals every now and then. I ended up buying some generic Dynex brand or something. It looked decent, but I guess I was wrong. The glue for the comfort pads on the mouse has started to fucking melt. It's seeping out and making my hand and the mouse sticky and now the mouse 1 button is getting stuck too. I will probably replace the mouse and then the keyboard separately (I would like lit keys for nighttime typing), but what I'm wondering is are things like the Razer or G15 products worth it? What do you guys recommend?

G15 and the like are only worth it if you're a hardcore gamer (especially in competitive sense). You can find plenty of good mice and keyboards from Logitech, Microsoft and Razer. They're the most popular brands with huge catalogs of hardware, from cheap and basic to expensive and fancy.

i use the g11 keyboard and the g9 mouse, both near top of the line and both work great. it really depends on how much and what kind of games you are intending to play on your pc. if you arent playing games that use alot of twich reactions its not really worth it, but in fps and other actiony games like that they give a definite advantage. one problem i had alot on fps is i would hit too many keys at once and the g11 fixed that, lit keys are also nice and macros are useful for common commands. you get what you pay for basically.

Get the G9 mouse, but wait until it pops up on slickdeals again (if it does, but I expect it to eventually). The mouse is normally $40-$50 but I keep seeing it appear on slickdeals for $23-$29. The G5 or MX518 are also both fantastic mice.

I ended up ordering the MX518. The G9 was a bit out of my price range and I want to replace this now. Thanks for the suggestions. I had seen this mouse at the store before and always thought it looked p badass.

I bought today, saw it on kotaku's cheap gamers post. It's got a $15 rebate on top of the sale price.
