I want some films or books which are genuinely creepy, surreal and scary. I think I have made topics like this before and people have posted bullshit so if it's just like "Hey, this movie sucks almost all the way through and it's kind of a goofy comedy except for this ONE moment which scares the shit outta me!!", don't post it. I'm looking for only the very 'creme'.

To give you an idea of what I mean I am talking about things to do with horror of the mind, not stupid ghosts or anything - although I'm not totally ruling out ghosts but generally supernatural stuff is alot less interesting than stuff that is just happening because something is going wrong in somebody's head. The stuff can still be funny in a threatening kind of way, like Franz Kafka books are, but I don't know

And when I look it up on the internet it is always the same old stuff - the shining, the exorcist, jacob's ladder etc - I'm not saying I hate all of that but I have seen all of it and I'm not satisfied. There have got to be thousands of things I have never even had a whiff of yet.

I just want to be confronted with things that will bother me all day. What do you have?

there's a dutch movie called spoorloos which is creepy in a pretty unconventional way. it doesn't rely on creepy locations or dark atmosphere, but just an

Hostel isnt suppose to be a horror but I found it really creepy for some reason and it scared the hell out of me when I tried to go to sleep that night thinking about how something like that could be real. The Eye 1+2 are very good for that creepy factor, the original asian movies not the Hollywood remake.

Massey, Hostel is the precise kind of thing I did not want to hear about. Maybe I wasn't clear enough but I want the opposite of an exploitation gore fest.

Lyndon I will get spoorloos.

I wrote that message on my phone and it cut out for some reason. But yeah, it's a pretty interesting movie in that everything is just 'every day life' kinda deal. The only reason I watched it and new about it was from reading that Stanley Kubrick cites it as the most terrifying film he has ever watched. Whilst I'm not sure about that, it did give me the chills for a couple of days.

I don't know if this would be considered scary but if you want surreal and creepy Eraser Head fits the bill. Although it's been a while since I watched it I know for a fact that it is very creepy in a psychological way. It's black and white though so if you have something against black and white films I don't recommend it.

I would recommend The Fly or whatever but I have a genuine fear of flies, so I don't know.

The Goosebumps Slappy episodes, and the one episode about the clown doll. Gave me the shivers, but I have a fear against dummies and dolls too so yeah.
A tool is a tool regardless. I mean if you suck, you suck, and not even the most perfect tool could save you. And if your damn good then even with the worst tool ever conceived you could chug out some high quality shit.
