Placing first in three jazz festivals, and second in another, in one year as lead trumpet, and also being able to play a song at graduation that was awesome.  Also being a Salutatorian, with only 2 A-'s in my whole high school career.
All of those accomplished as a senior in high school haha, and I really cannot wait for college.

Can there be a thread for those of us who are worthless, lazy and haven't achieved anything of note thus far?
How about no!? You are an idiotic version of a baboon.

I never got why people are so eager to reach out for special recognition, prizes or specific successes. If you're around the average GW age (21 years I'm guessing) and you have either a steady life or an excellent plan for the future, that's as good an accomplishment as anything.

I can't wait for this.  I've been something of an underachiever since high school, and now I finally have something to set my sights on.  Navy's nuclear program is going to be heinous, but I feel very motivated to do it.  If I can tough through those 2 years, I think I'll be hard-pressed to top that.  What is your MOS?

Plucking up the courage to jump out of a plane at 9500 feet without anyone attached to me, using a parachute made by the lowest bidder that had been packed in under 10 minutes.

man i could never trust a parachute.  i just imagine all of these comically horrific things happening.  ripping the cord and it just snaps off.  ripping the cord and a picnic blanket and silverware fly out.

Ripping the cord and an anvil pops out of your backpack, and for some reason you defy physics and fall faster because that's usually what would happen in a typical Wile E. Coyote cartoon. Also, you never die but leave an Evangel-shaped hole on the ground with a puff of smoke.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust parachuting either. How the hell do you look down from that airplane and just *decide* to jump?

Totally. There's a great deal of younger adults without that at the moment, especially in my country.

I'm in my mid twenties and a professional with a nice salary and fuckloads of holidays. I'm happy with that, even if I'm not winning any awards and shit.

ALTHOUGH MAYBE PLEASE I WILL WIN AN AWARD?!?!

Hey hey hey

I don't know if you wrote this anywhere, but how much did it cost you? I heard it was expensive, just curious.

Don't worry about that bro, he works for Sega and regularly attends GW Canada meets.

Can't think of anything at 22 years old someone kill me

oh god this

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.
