that's nice sheppard but how is banning its sale not real power over how many people watch it? do you really think SAW would've been such a hit if you could only get it shipped in from brazil?
I didn't say anything about how big a hit this movie would have been - even if it hadn't been banned, how many cinemas would show it and how many supermarkets would stock it? It would barely be a blip - this movie isn't SAW. You can already find this movie all over the internet, too. Whoever wants to see this is going to see it, and I don't think anyone is going to have to pay postage and packaging to do so. Whether it is banned or not doesn't matter anymore. The amount of people that see it will be limited but calling it banned is useless because it's already available.
a government-run ratings board with the power to actually MAKE MOVIES ILLEGAL is ridiculous. that's too bad that you permit it over there!
lets do GAMINGW MOVIE CLUB: "SALO, OR THE 120 DAYS OF SODOM"
I'm unclear on whether the movies are illegal, they just aren't classified and so places of business can't sell or buy them. I mean, right? Unless I am wrong but assuming I'm not: I'm not saying it's a good idea, obviously, but this is a very common system. Besides, the system in America isn't so different in effect. Films get classified NC-17, and are no longer shown or sold in the majority of places, causing lots of things to be cut out. Bruno was classified NC-17 and they had to tone down the GAYNESS of it all, or they'd get no money. How is that better than what the BBFC has done here?
