Scribblenauts, the game where you can spawn pretty much ANYTHING, has leaked! i've been playing it nonstop since yesterday. officially, it comes out September 15 in North America, and i will be sure to buy it also when it comes out. anyways, it's really awesome.
basically, the point of the game is to collect these little stars by spawning objects to help you. you write the name of any noun you can think of, and it appears. there are ~22,800 different objects that can be spawned. you can also combine objects, like gluing a baby to a steak so a lion will eat it (this fact has gotten the game a rating of E10+). check out the wikipedia page for more information.
this game is for the Nintendo DS, and i would highly recommend that you get it. it's the ultimate sandbox game!

sounds kind of interesting! might be a ds game worth buying?

I got bored with after ~10 minutes, idk why. I typed in fishing net for the butterfly one and threw it over the butterfly and caught it, but the butterfly got trapped underground and I couldn't grab it.

Yeah, it's really basic and bland platformer

The one caracteristic it has is the summoning of shit by typing, of which there is alot, but it doesn't save this game at all.

It's funny, but only a small novelty that lasts a few minutes.

i dunno man, i'm having fun with it. i guess the amount of enjoyment you get from this game has to do with how creative you are. i don't think i've reused a single object. it's fun to try and thing of new things to solve the puzzles.

Im having fun. I'm annoyed that in the farm animal one 'chick, cock, and ass' is invalid. For some reason it didn't register cocks as a farm animal (or roosters either for that matter) so I had to put hen instead.

Not sure why chick or rooster wouldn't work but cock and ass is invalid for a reason even though they do reference actual animals.  Trademarks, proper names and terms that can be seen as vulgar/offensive were not included.

Anyway, getting the game when it launches.  The second of four big DS games I'm getting this year.

They where valid words though. They did spawn the animals. It's just that some of the animals it did spawn weren't counted as farm animals.

Wow, then that's just poor programming.  I think they did that as a joke because people would type those things then get the literal animal, but it doesn't matter if your joke isn't also functional.

Whenever I get hyped over a game for giving out the slightest degree of creative control, I can't help but become disappointed with whenever the final product turns out to be.

I'm hoping that won't stop me from enjoying the game for whatever it turns out to be. (That news Chainer posted up is truly disheartening. Vellfire makes a good point about the programming given that I would imagine one of the first things such a robust system needs to take into concideration is the proper interpretation of homonyms. Have you tried typing in pussy yet?)
