i bought this and played for like 10 mins last night. its fucking awesome. i love dungeon crawlers and this is so smooth. I really like it. It fixes a lot of annoying things about most dungeon crawlers. I love how you automatically pick up gold just by running over it.
yes coulombs are "germaine", did you learn that word at talk like a dick school?

are there magic ranged weapons? ranged weapons kick ass so my alchemist has a rifle at the moment but it uses dexterity instead of magic so he's not that strong with it.

The game is decent, but suffers from a lot of problems.

It is way too easy. Even on the hardest difficulty, it is still easy.
It is too short. It has extras to keep you entertained, but the game is still relatively short for a diablo clone.
No multiplayer. I have no idea why, but it lacks multiplayer entirely.
And there is a lot of really bad, or just poorly thought out design choices (an example is the equipment you start with is the best in the game, just keep enchanting it, enjoy having a set of equipment with +1 million to all stats).

All in all, it is a decent game and worth the price. But just don't expect it to be as good as other similar types of games.

There will be a MMO version later on, the single player version was released because they makers wanted to get input from the players, and also because they couldn't do all the same things in the MMO version (like the tools that come with it for modding purposes). I think that's also the reason why the game was so cheap in the first place and the MMO version of it will be out sometime next year, I think.

big thanx to dragonslayer for sig!

This is incorrect, every time you enchant an object there is a % chance it wipes everything on the item, this % goes up the more you enchant it. Unless of course you are using mods to remove that chance, in which case the game is going to be easy when you remove the balance factor behind one of the games most important mechanics so you can just keep reusing it so long as you have the money.

All ranged weapons use Dex. Wands usually have elemental damages which will be boosted by your Magic stat, though. My Alch uses a wand and 1h sword.

Staves are not ranged.

i actually like the fact that the game doesn't have a multiplayer option.  makes it feel like a proper diablo game.  its okay for a game to be single player, especially since there are only 3 distiguished classes.

other people are creating their own classes for this game(like necromancer, paladin etc.) which is pretty cool

I've tried fate and deleted it after playing it for 10 minutes. I played torchlight and stuck with it until I finished a mode. Both games feel very different despite the obvious similarities.

What I liked about diablo though is that you could dungeon romp with a couple of friends. It was like playing a single player game except you had a social factor there, and it made the game a lot more fun. I was really disappointed that Torchlight didn't have any kind of multiplayer but it's still a pretty solid game.

I can't say I like the animeish WoW graphics though. It feels like the audio and story tries to be dark and gothic while the visual theme strives to be a WoW knockoff.
