i really like headphonics' idea of taking up donations, like he said his family has had tons of bills and helping them out with something practical would be really nice.  i don't have much but i would definitely give what i could to that

edit: jeez i said 'helping them would help them' ic an't type this morning

open up the archives so we can at least see some of his old posts. or at least bring back the awesome topics forum if nothing else.

Rename the archives the Steel Paladine Memorial Archives.

Wow, I didn't know he had passed away *hides* I was gone for a year so I didn't know.

I am sure there is a ton of well wishing, and heartfelt thoughts for his family as they deal with this. I hope they can move through this time in life, losing someone is horrible... I honestly don't know what else to say for this....

I agree with the donation thing, someone should contact their family and setup a paypal account so that we can donate what we can to them, I know when I am able to I will.

his family might need help with the funeral bills.  it's possibly more practical than what a lot of others would say, but they're going through enough shit right now, and i know his mother has been struggling to pay the medical bills for a long time.  nobody should have to lose a family member and then stress about financial shit at the same time.
pretty much this. I'm a little low on cash, but I'd be willing to donate what I can.

hey what about a troubadours

I know someone was talking about a metal one but steel started it and it would be really cool to do one in his honor with his favorite songs or artists.

Maybe we could do a (very) mini chain project in rm2k3 to honour him. Any body can contribute a small section (small we don't want a repeate of the cg4 fiasco) even if it a single screen.
this is the worst idea ever

sorry to shit on you man but as far as i could tell he hated rm2k games

regardless of whether or not somebody liked them, honoring somebody with an RM2K game is pretty much among  the tackiest things that you could ever do!

funeral's tomorrow, i'll let you guys know if his family needs any help.

If anyone wants to say something in a card, PM it to me and I'll print it out and assemble it somehow for tomorrow.

Yeah, I loved San Andreas, but it was just such a black game. :x Like. Eh, I dunno, it was all so frickin' black, and I enjoyed the atmosphere of Vice City more.

wouldn't want the server to be strained
i don't know man. i don't know anything about servers. i want it to be accessible to people without everything slowing down considerably because 100 people are accessing old posts. Maybe uploading them elsewhere would be an alternative? there's no reason to argue over this.

can you explain to me how this puts more strain on the server than if we access a topic on say the front page? I know nothing about these things.

Troubadours + archives + pictures of members holding signs of R.I.P. Steel, condolences to his family etc as a internet memorial?
