Hm... I reaaaallllyyy don't want to... but I guess.

It's still in Beta. It's not even implemented into Essence yet. The reason why Butz is there instead of Xander, Biggs, and Wedge is because... those sprites aren't even done. (Lex redesigned Keira. Can't wait to show you guys >IN THE DEMO<). I'm not sure about the battle backgrounds... I can only resize them, which kinda blurs them (don't worry, its not higher def than the sprites. Same pixels) I dunno, what do you guys think?

I thought XP was front-view- how'd you get side-view?  Also, Irfanview's resize can do it w/out losing as much detail- it can automatically sharpen if you wish.

XP has a scripting system.

And when it comes to resizing, RMXP windows are 640x480 (I half the size and make it 320x240, like rm2k3)... so... yeah... If I have to resize it, it will have to blur or else the pixels will look stretched and oogly lol

If you're resizing png's, instead of jpg's, then IrfanView should do a decent job of it.

Use Resample instead of Resize.
Choose the Lanczos filter.

If the resized image looks a little blurry, then Sharpen it.

Then save as a png, not as a jpg.

I've gotta say, dude, you've really blown me away with this project. There is clearly a lot of effort put into this, and I am nothing but impressed. Part of me wishes that you wouldn't make a Final Fantasy fangame, but then it's hard not to respect this level of authenticity.

BASICALLY GOOD JOB GUY.

Making a FF fangame has been my dream ever since I started with The Games Factory, back in 2001... or so. But, we will do an original game someday... It's just, if I can make a game as great as FF, then that's something. If I can make this game feel like FF, then I have succeeded and could probably do a better, original game! Of course, graphics are an issue since I like using my own ripped/lex ripped graphics and edits... and sprites.

Perhaps there is a way to weave the FF feel in with an original plot to make something new.

Waaayyy too many things made to make this game original ;) From music to graphics to plot elements... yeah... If I were to make an original game, I know what I'll do. This is gonna stay FF.

Aww- I just meant that you should give it  a bit of a twist- say maybe Essence is the energy of something OTHER than the planet. BTW, I've begun ripping FF1 Origins graphics if you want them.

I've been casually glancing at this project from my peripheral vision for a while now, and I would just like you to know that this game is probably going to be one of the only rpg based fan games I'll ever find myself playing.

It's not just your dedication and the effort involved in following through on that dedication (even though it's the lion's share of why I completely respect what this project offers), but it's one of the few instances I've seen where someone has an authentic reason to make a game based on an existing series. You don't just want to make a game something that's Final Fantasy. It's like you so sincerely want to to create something that makes Final Fantasy your own, and I find it shocking how rare that is to come by. It should be a pre-requisite for anyone even remotely considering making a game that purposely resembles another.

Even if you can't fully explain why you are making this specific RPG a game that's called "Final Fantasy" (when you could very well take every original element involved and detach them from the franchise altogether), I whole-heartedly expect to find out that very reason for myself when I play your game. When that moment comes, I'll also know that you couldn't have possibly made it work out any other way.

Okay really you guys are making me feel A LOT better about this project =D It makes me feel much more determined. And yeah, I may lie about the release dates (actually they aren't lies. I'm telling you the truth until I find out I can't meet the deadline looool)

Thanks guys, really =D This project will always live... until the final boss.

And Terrorantula, which graphics? Tiles? Tiles would be greatly helpful since I never find time ripping them myself...

EVil Demon Creature is right- -if  you can find a way to make this your own, I predict success. And right now it's raw map data- I haven't actually transferred that to templates can you do that yourself?  I also have the PSX versions of V and VI, if you wish those graphics instead.

Switching from current graphics to different graphics is a bit impossible unless I recreated the whole game... (140 maps so far, lots of events, etc)

Perhaps some of what I have gathered will prove of use to you, but you'll have to see if it meshes well...

Main theme you guys. I actually had this theme kept full because I think it's wonderful! It isn't done by shizu, but shizu did make it a mp3 so it uses his instruments and such! Demo is still being worked on...
