 I'm surprised no one is talking about this!

I haven't played online yet but I heard it's pretty buggy and not really worth the effort which sucks because that was one of the main
things I was excited about!

What do you think of it? Favorite characters etc?

I'm still a Jin fan personally. None of his moves are too complex but I'm pretty good with him.

i don't see who said this was really terrible

it's a pretty good game, though i've spent much less time playing it than i wish i did, as a result i couldn't re-learn my main (dragunov, who changed alot) and i end up sucking pretty much

the only "buggy" part is the online, which WAS laggy as hell USUALLY (good games did exist), but this is  being worked on, and already the good game/laggy game ratio is better

also in terms of the ps3/360 versions there's the beat 'em up mode which you have to play to then use your characters in the "arena" to unlock prologue/ending videos, which were in the usual story mode in other tekkens. that is a really poor choice, but technically it's not so bad, because even though it's a really basic beat 'em up, it's not so terrible, reminiscient of old arcade beat 'em ups somewhat. It also doesn't remove the focus on the actual moves of the character, since once you're locked onto an enemy the gameplay is just like the actual game, meaning you stop moving all directions and all

You do have to manage fight stance/freerun though

psp version doesn't have this mode (which isn't too important either way) and instead has the story mode work for prologue/ending movies, as it should. other than that, psp version lacks Dark Ressurection's tekken dojo, but that's all: it keeps all the fun DR had while being tekken 6.

the only sorta annoying difference is that, while the psp keeps the DR ranking stuff, ps3 version has a new ranking system, in that while playing offline you cannot get over 1st dan(which is pretty low), but if you're not an old pro, going online for the first time is going to get you beat by previous pros getting back their rank, or generally good people. since everybody starts at 1st dan, it's easy to find a much better opponent at the same rank you are initially. (a result of this is my offline w/l percentage is around 78% while online it is almost under 10%)

this is basically what you can use to judge this game, as the rest is the good old tekken, with somewhat reworked moves(as always) for some peeps and new ways to pick up combos and all

the characters, levels and music(oh ye) are all p.cool

Yeah, I had thought about a topic when the game came out, but I had already made about three or four Tekken 6 topics in the past so I figured I should take a rest!

The game isn't awful any way you look at it. The only group of people who I've seen continuously bitch about the game would be the posters on the GameFAQs Tekken 6 forum, but they'll bitch about any new game that comes out anyway.

Online is the only other poor aspect of the game. It was a bit laggy after the game came out, but I was still able to win some fights without bitching too much about the input delay caused by it. A patch was made available last week to address online lag, but I haven't played Tekken 6 since then (Assassin's Creed 2 is eating up all of my gaming time).

To be honest, it's my favourite Tekken game of all time already. Dark Resurrection on the PS3 was my previous favourite (no loading between fights was awesome), but Tekken 6 just has so much style and fantastic gameplay that it's impossible to shun it if you're a Tekken fan. I only know one person in real life who played it and wasn't impressed, but that's because he has mained Hwoarang since Tekken 3, and ol' Hwoarang's movelist changed a fair bit in Tekken 6. He did not like this one bit.

The character roster is fucking gigantic for a 3D fighter, and there is a charater there to fit everyone's playstyle. Before dismissing Tekken 6 and claiming to be unable to enjoy it, I really suggest giving EVERY character a go.

And speaking of the characters, Tekken 6 has the best bunch of new characters since Tekken 3. Nothing can top the introduction of Jin, Eddy, Hwoarang, and so forth, but Tekken 6 comes pretty darn close with Miguel, Bob, Zafina, Alisa... And speaking of that femme bot from Hell, I can't stand her. She's good for the series and all, but man, I can't fight against her when it's another human using her. She's too damn fast! My Lee doesn't do a whole lot of good against her, so I have to resort to pure beatdown with Paul.

Some people online moan about the graphics in the game, but really? They're just fine. They are slightly dated overall, but the character models are still impressive. The skin texturing on some characters, such as Kazuya, looks fantastic. Also, Tekken 6 has the best lighting I've ever seen in a fighting game. It's really nice!

The music is also pretty cool.

I could probably praise the Tekken 6 forever, but I'll just let the game itself do the talking. Not sure how good the fighting is in these videos because I didn't watch too much of them, but at least they'll give you good idea of how it plays.

In my opinion, Tekken 6 plays mostly like Tekken 3 and Tekken 5, so if were a fan of the third game, you should like this one.

I know lots of people who say Tekken is a button masher and it annoys me when they say that because I don't think it is. Also why the hell did they make tekken 6 on the PSP with no online play...

when it's not about mostly button mashing and luck it's not very fun. getting caught in a juggle is the most frustrating thing in the world

Well yeah,  I know how frustrating  it is to get caught in a juggle. But if you try button mashing against someone who  knows tekken you're not gonna win.

Man,  I don't know. I love juggling other people and I love being juggled myself. It's just fun to see how far it goes, how much damage will be involved, etc. I never really found it all that frustrating because hey, if Iose a juggle in a match in which I feel like I was doing pretty darn good... Well, that's what the rematch option is for.

yeah, this is true. but i only know one guy who plays tekken to any decent level, so everyone else just button bashes and spams moves... but also im not a fan of combos in games either (the dude who i know who plays tekken has a ton of them memorised and it's pretty annoying and just ends up feeling a bit cheap).

I used to play Tekken to death, but now I just prefer the likes of Guilty Gear and Street Fighter.  and probably BlazBlue should it actually ever be released in europe...
