Hey.

Last night before falling asleep, my computer worked fine in every way, shape and form.. But this morning, I woke up and hopped on. Heard all of the regular Vista boot up sounds, so sound was working. However, I went to YouTube to watch a video and there was no sound at all. My volume on YouTube was not muted or down all the way, so I didn't understand it.

I then checked my mp3s, and they all worked fine. I have sound and everything, but not in Firefox or something, I'm not really sure.

And yeah, just Firefox. I just checked as I was writing this, and I have sound on YouTube when I use Google Chrome, so it's a Firefox problem of some sort. Anyone familiar with this?

It might be a plugin problem with firefox. First download the uninstaller, than the latest plugin. Close firefox and use the uninstaller, then install the latest plugin. Use this page for a reference if necessary: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Using+the+Flash+plugin+with+Firefox

A link to the uninstaller: Flash Uninstaller
Here's the latest version of flash: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Did you mute firefox? Left click on the volume tray icon and go to mixer and see if it is muted.
If an image says a thousand words, and a video shows 24 images each second, then why couldn't they condense everything I needed to learn at school into one hour long video :V

are other programs muted where you don't explicitly tell the sound device you want to use, like RPG Maker? and do you use an external audio thing because my m-audio fast track's drivers were buggy and I couldn't hear sound unless it was foobar or winamp or some program where you choose 'm audio fast track' from a list. So no sound in firefox etc. and m-audio didn't do anything about this I don't think

Its a question of commands and keys. If you use wrong commands, It tends to jump to other options and you could easily go very far. Manuals are most handy.
