I find Morrowind can get horribly boring with it's combat system(dice roll style). Does anyone know of any mods to spruce it up a bit?

they apparently have mods that turn the combat into crouching tiger hidden dragon shit and you can behead people b ut it's really horrible. the combat is fine, you'll eventually stop missing all the time and it will become bearable

This kind of game is best played with your own epic soundtrack.  Led Zeppelin is PERFECT for just about everything you do in this game.  Even running across an endless plain is flippin sweet when Page is jamming out in the background.  If I wasn't rocking out to Zep, I'd usually put on some metal or symphonic/chamber shit and go to town.

yeah, but that "danger theme" that plays every time you encounter an enemy gets really repetitive, and it breaks up the music very often.  i ended up getting really annoyed with that theme.

it sounds really cheesy, but led zeppelin, iron maiden, all that shit is pretty appropriate when i'm playing.  maybe not so much in the towns unless you're a merciless baby killer.

i always thought it would be cool in a game if you could designate a different playlist that would change for towns, dungeons, or combat.

I've never listened to music in video games because its appropriate, I just listen to music because I like listening to music.  I really don't care if it is appropriate to what is happening in the video game at the time.  If I did care, i would just listen to the game music instead, but I don't because I don't happen to care.

this is strange. as a MUSIC LOVER i would assume you'd get into a games' music quite easily?

like i can understand WOOT. LED ZEPPLIN. YEAH people listening to their own music in games, but as someone who seems to actually enjoy music as music you strike me more as one who would get immersed in a game's audio experience!!!

i don't want to say that i don't enjoy video game music sometimes when it is a fantastic soundtrack, eg: Deus Ex.  and that sort of thing.  and occasionally i will sit down and play with video game music, especially during longer duration plays (i usually don't have time to do this though, so i'll usually only play for like half an hour and its easier to get into it if it something familiar rather than immersing yourself and then being like AAAA i have to go to my project meeting or something like that)

Agreed 100%. Morrowind's soundtrack is short, but incredibly sweet. The main theme is also really beautiful. The music is what made Morrowind really immersive for me.

I cannot play a game with also listening to other non-game music.
Even with GTA's, I'd do my own tracks for the mp3station and still end up listening to fusion.fm or jazz radio or something. It fits.

yeah GTA's radio is pretty good. I want to get mp3s of some of the fusion music, but I don't think they have a folder with the songs as mp3s.

also I've never played music over the games music.

when it came out(but before the soundtrack did), me and Lars set up a thing in the zoo to get people to upload if they have any tracks in GTAIV but I think we were the only people that did, so the grand total of fusion consisted of Gong and David Axlerod. And nothng more ;_:
