I'm sorry its just I sat through like an hour of my chief mate babbling on about this stupid shit and its annoying that anyone would think I got that from a movie.

really you couldn't imagine how incredibly boring it is

I have to crack jokes every few minutes during these "safety meetings" in order to stay awake

it's ok, that's a lot funnier than just you doing it on your own (also it's not true?)

harry manback ( i forget his recent name right now) already said it but you should try an ear doctor or at very least a doctor aside from the company's pick. if you are wearing earplugs everyday, your workplace is aware of the risks and its to be expected their doctor will downplay your problems.

in my job it is a similar situation except with arthritis and eventual wrist surgery (also very bad for musicians)

I sneezed and punctured my right eardrum yesterday. what did I just tell you guys?? ears are the worst. they need to invent new ears and perform tonsillectomies on all newborn babies.

You must be one hell of a sneezer. That's something I can appreciate. How's your hearing with a punctured drum?

it's muffled. I guess the puncture isn't that bad because some people completely lose their hearing in that ear apparently

it was probably because I have really bad sinuses too and I hate them but afaik they can't remove your sinuses. I need a new head, this head's shot

It'll heal fine overtime earl, it is fucking horrible though. I had the worst time when I punctured my ear drum. Just keep it out of water.

I didn't read the thread but I've been having the same fucking problem lately. At work I'll be talking to somebody and half the time I'm going WHAT? WHAT? To the point where it's kinda known that I'm half deaf or something. And randomly my ears pop and I hear ringing or some fucked up noise. I thought it was because either I get really congested and have trouble blowing my nose or I listen to music full blast in my headphones every day. Maybe combination of the two..

I also asked if it was a medical fact because I thought "maybe he didn't get that from a movie"

This happens. I've got some very mild tinnitus which I don't notice most of the time, but every once in a while this happens. I think it's pretty common, but don't take my word for it. But if you've got a problem with your hearing seriously drop the volume on the headphones. They can be real ear killers, because on high volumes, it doesn't sound as loud as it is. People often listen to music on headphones or plugs on such levels that if someone turned the speakers equally loud they would probably cover their ears and try to shout to turn it down. I don't even get the same kick out of listening to music really loud on headphones as I get on speakers, that 'surrounded by music' feeling where you literally feel the bass in your guts. Often when I listen on 'phones I feel like turning it up but notice that it doesn't really do anything.

I don't think it helps that I have the kind where you stick em right inside your earholes to amplify the bass or whatever.

aaaa holy shit earl?!? i really hate ears ~~earl & ramci. basically a lot of good things have happened since (for example changing the job from hospital's kitchen to hospital ARCHIVES haha) but basically no heal to hearing. in fact i think the vhs flicker noise have become something that is present thorough the day though maybe i have slept too little? nah i'm fairly certain i haven't had this before. i try lot of different types of witchcraft though but i don't think they will work.  i am trying this medicine that should boost the blood circulation in ears (used to meniere's (sp? (faaaart.)) disease, has relatively little side effects so why not). may try to fix my bite. went to a good massage today to see if that helps but nope, only discovered some scoliosis. apparently only the capitol city has thec over-pressure oxygen chamber treatment, that's pretty expensive. haven't tried any bother medicines yet apart for that one medicine. i guass you can get permanent damage for waiting for almost two months before getting (or rather DISCOVERING  ) help...

it's been basically about getting used to it and hoping that it won't get worse quickly. trying to get back into normal life.

also Buttkiller you do not have tinnitus, i repeat, you do not have tinnitus so don't worry about it. just listen to music from speakers with medium volume and the risk should be little. also AVOID HIGH-VOLUME JOBS LIKE DISEASE!!! learn to wear earplugs if you have to tolerate high volumes.

yeah i don't really want to do this anymore. i try to avoid playing headphones if i can or play them with low volume. also jesus christ if you listen to headphones when in a bus, train or other medium/high-volume environment nobody should ever do this ever but you see this happen all the time. it's ridicilous how little it is known about ear damage and tinnitus.

Hey that's good news, that kitchen job sounded awful. Maybe this will bring back "golden ears" ramci???

it was a good move. i really like to not have my ears sound like vhs white noise after a work day + good, set worktimes and relaxed/good atmosphere. not too stingy about getting into work precisely in time since we use clock cards.
