If your an owner of the original chunky PS3 like me then you have undoubtedly been unable sign into PSN and even play a lot of your games off-line including the new Heavy rain. I've been constantly checking for updates as to wether they are close to a solution but still no real information on an eta.

I'm just finding it absolutely ridiculous that this is something which has affected close to 35million people worldwide, a lot of them very pi*%ed off and leaving comments all over the place. Some over the top and very dramatic, doesn't look like Sony will hear the end of this.

i didn't even notice.

i guess we'll just have to live without playstation for a while then, huh?

you can read books, go run around outside, call and talk to family, work, or even use the internet to study and learn something new like fluid mechanics or plasma physics

nobody told the japanese about leap years, it was a deliberate move on the US's part when it was discovered that they hadn't figured it out some time in the 80's when it was feared that the japanese economy could possibly rival the US's

and now we all have to pay... the aftershocks of the cold war are still causing casualties.... casualties who never even saw the wall come down

Well, I haven't been having any trouble. I downloaded the Heavy Rain and GoW3 demos last night, and I even got a few trophies.

Is it only effecting certain systems or is it specifically the PSN?

I swear its true, I have no reason to lie here. Just checked. I still have my 3 or 4 trophies I got last night. Perhaps thats because Dante's Inferno is a Single-Player only game. And I know I downloaded the Heavy Rain demo last night, cause I played it shortly before going to bed.

it's only the fat PS3, slims are out in the clear... and there has been a new update tell users that have a PS3 that has this problem to not play on it till they solve this issue to avoid permanent and unreversible damage.

Ah, its only the older PS3s than?

EDIT: Just checked the twitter page, looks like I'm in the clear (I have a 120g one, and it says they're connecting normally)

also i forgot to say there also looking to solve this issue in the next 24 hour so looks like we might have another day before anything is done. So we are looking at 2 1/2 days of waiting for us ps3 fat users witch i am effected too BTW.

i think it runs deeper than this. Obviously this could be the work of some heroic hackers.... think about it, megacorporations like sony and microsoft have been using playstations to condition young people around the world into a mindset more accepting of the coming new world order. I haven't lost any other then Heavy Rain for some reason witch i'm not wearied since all trophy's are backed up on the PS network I know this from reformatting my hard drive many times but I feel sorry for those how lost there saves since I know there not getting them back unless you backed up your hard drive recently. lol.
