What do you guys think is the best game engine out there?

I have been using GameStudio A7 and like the Lite-C language.  I'm also starting to learn how to work with XNA to develop games for the Xbox360 (still have a good ways to go) and also like the C# language as well.  I like them both, and think both have their pro's and cons. (for both 2d and 3d games)

What are your takes?
Are there other good game engines you guys like?

Also...I've been using Maya and Blender...and think blender is a little better...what's the best way to use blender with the game engines(file conversions? - with what?)?

Game Maker and DarkBASIC are a tool for making games without much programming and a programming language directed at 3D games, respectively.

You've just asked two different questions, in my opinion- just because a maker is considered the "Best" doesn't mean it's best for you. For example some makers might be capable of all sorts of complex programs and special effects, but much too complex for a beginner.
