well check it out has been on so i am going to get that somehow at some point over the next day or two, then i'm going to watch it and verify whether it's any good or not so then i'll be able to report on back here, get that message out there whether it is worth you guys getting it yourself and watching it. i feel like there was a more brief way to get this information across but
the first episode of check it out was put on the adult swim page

it's pretty good. it's really just the same style of awesome show, but focused on steve brule. strikes me as the sort of thing that may get tiresome, but it's worthwhile if you dig the brule character.

oh ok then I blame you for the GW primer craze

I didn't start it, I'm just saying I knew about it before the gw craze and that normal people do watch it.

Can anyone recommend any older completed tv series? I'm currently on the last season of Babylon 5 (why did I not know about this awesome show until only recently? I like it so much better than any Star Trek series... and it gives me faith that there are actually writers out there that actually have an overall gameplan for their story and not make up things as they go along like so many shows now do. This may be my favourite Sci Fi when I'm done with it).

I also started watching Twin Peaks (currently on episode 5 of season 1) because I had heard of it having some weird twist ending (I'm a sucker for those) and Hundley posting in the other topic reminded me about it. Liking it so far. Can't wait until things pick up.

So yeah, someone list some random older shows that are good so I can look into them. I'm not too picky and I don't really have a genre specification so let loose.

i've seen this, a professor made us watch it

it's not really that depressing. well maybe. it's about some douchebag doing douchebag art things that somehow predict how facebook/youtube turns us into dumb people or w/e

it's a good documentary and very interesting

Mateui I don't want to be rude to you but a twist ending has absolutely nothing to do with why twin peaks is good. Don't be a sucker, buddy. I'm glad you are liking it though.

Just here to recommend Spartacus: blood and sands for all comedy fans here. Some of the most hilarious dialogue I have ever seen on television.

I watched maybe an episode or two of sons of anarchy and found it difficult to take seriously.  don't really know why though.  maybe if I watched it some more I'd feel differently but then again I don't really care either way

I've been wondering about Mad Men. Been told its really good. and oddly enough I'm actually running out of things to watch. Just finished Battlestar Galactica and most of the shows I watch on Hulu are coming to a close for their seasons.

Hey, speaking of Battlestar Galactica I watched the first season of that show a while back and thought it was actually pretty bad! I think it was popular here for a while and maybe I was expecting too much but it really seemed like just generic sci-fi Stargate stuff. The whole they-walk-amoing-us thing and the general tone of desperation and pessimism in the idea of the last remnants of the human race just slowly being picked apart in space that was sort of interesting and maybe the show develops into this more later on but they were kind of suffocated beneath characters and plot twists and awkward cod-mysticism garbage that I didn't care about at all. Like it kept showing me things and expecting me to be INTRIGUED but I had no reason to think they would be handled well later down the line. To be fair I didn't watch the opening miniseries and the show supposedly gets much better from here on but it didn't seem like there was room to develop it in any worthwhile way beyond maybe better writing. This isn't a "is this worth watching" since I'm probably not going to watch the rest anyway but what's the deal?

Also I've heard good things about a show called Red Riding, does anyone know if it's any good? It has good reviews but that could be just the generic response to anything Grim And Gritty.

I liked the show overall. I would agree with you that it is overrated though. Mainly I dislike the religious BS that is sprinkled through out the show and some of the characters can get a tad annoying.

Also I haven't seen Stargate.
