I'm just getting back into Rm2K/3 after a few years in the Wilderness, I once again obtained Rm2K3, but when I try and make a new project, I'm unable to do so because all my backslashes, in the file directory, are Yen symbols, making it incapable of creating a new folder/file.

Is there a fix for this?
Working on Special Unit 22. Sprites are tough.

Yeah I've had this happen before, download some patches man, it should fix it. Try the advocates patch, or the thing that shows thge guidelines on the messages. You should still be able to make new files though.

It has to do with one of the fonts. You should be able to get it from the correct Advocate RM2k3.

for what it's worth, they're really still slashes even though they appear as yens. (if i recall correctly) which means it shouldn't cause any problems with creating folder

Yes that is true, I don't know why it shows a Yen symbol but it still appears to work as a backslash.

They work fine for me as well.

In fact, they're actually helpful when it comes to message formatting because it is impossible to mix up a \ and a / by accident!
