Here you can find information about the newest and third installment of the immense Final Tear 3 series created by Stevie v.d. Laar. Final Tear 3 is one of the largest and very custom scripted fan based games in the rpgmaker library.

Website Final Tear 3: http://finaltear3.site90.net/ (here you can find the download links)

The game offers a 90 to 110 hours game play experience full with magic and mystery. A deep dark story with a lot of unexpected plot twists. The game is full of mini games and special events and a lot of custom systems that it an unique taste. After 7 years of hard work, the game is finally finished and soon to be launched for the big audience!

The Story

The story starts in space on an unknown planet. A world in the verge of extinction, calls upon the help of a man who claims to be the savior of mankind. An alien race headed towards your home planet living only for destruction. A man without any knowledge of himself desperately seeks answers to his identity. Welcome to the world of Final Tear 3, where a man vowed to find the answers to his unknown life.

The story of Final Tear 3 is a very deep and intensive long story with a lot of plot twists. It will keep you interested from the beginning till the end. During your story you will meet many characters as well as a lot of cool worlds for you to explore. Spreading over 5 world maps and more than 200 places to visit!

Features

Final Tear 3 is a quite special game if you compare it with other self made games. The reason that it took so long to make the third part is basically that I wanted game to be very special! Not only that, I also tried to accomplish that the game would offer the same quality as games you buy in stores. This makes the game special unique and more fun to play.

There are a lot of custom systems that give a whole new and unique game play sensation. One of the most important systems are the Orb magic system, in game voice acting, the S.A.S.S (Summon Aura Sensation System), a roulette system, a custom exp system, a gun bullet system, a book learning system and a online banking and interest system.

There are a lot more custom systems in the game, but those can be found on in the custom systems section and in the game itself!

Custom battle system

The whole battle system algorithms are custom made by me (in combination with dozens of other custom systems). It only uses a very slight piece of the basic foundations of rpgmaker. Everything else is custom made. With this I could make my own damage calculations. With this I could implement my own custom systems in the battle system of rpgmaker.

You will see a lot of unique stuff in the new improved battle system, breaking all limits there were in rpgmaker. Doing max 9999 damage is a thing of the past, now you can do virtually do everything you wish: like stacking your skills, combine your skills it is all possible here.

The new battle system is very deep and might be complex in the beginning. However when you master it, you can unleash million different strategies depending on your own play style. You can even create your own strategies within the battles! That being said the battle system is very diverse and it can take months to master every detail in it!

Train to infinity & character adjustment

Ever dreamt of an RPG game with no limits in how strong you can get? The systems and possibilities in Final tear 3 many leave trainers with a warm feeling. You want to brag online about your uber stats? This is the game where you can really show how die-hard you are, there is virtually no limit how strong you can become in the game. Show them fools that you are the man of this game with your uber stats!

You can train your characters in different ways so that you can shape them in your own taste. All characters have their own very unique play style. Each character completely fights differently in battle and some characters even can influence other characters. This gives the game a high replay value because you want to try the other character combinations and strategies out as well.

Side quests

There is much more to tell about this game. But I don’t want to spoil too much what the game has to offer.
The game has also a lot of side quests you can do even if you have completed the game. You have secret dungeons with super tough enemies. There are a lot of secret bosses and mini games. As well there are special places you can visit to train or to solve puzzles or solve mazes.

And if you really the jack of al trades you might want to master the roulette game to get very special items and spells!

Take on the adventure called Final Tear 3 and have a lot of fun playing my game!
Final Tear 3 will be re released begin april 2010!

Improved you say? Guess Ill give it another try.

EDIT:
Well, I give up. The walking speed is still slow, the text scrolling is still slow, the penis ship is still there and it still laughs.
Playing your game is kind of like watching a Z grade horror flick from the 80s in slow motion. Some people may enjoy it but I'm not one of them.
Well done for competing a game, sadly thats all the praise I can come up with since you refuse to adress the issues that make your game chore to play.

Reading over this thread, it feels like one of those old "I want to make the biggest RM* game EVER!" sort of games, mixed with a case of Laxius Power-esque over-exaggeration. Don't get me wrong, I love it when people make truly deep, immersive, lengthy games that push the engine to its limits, but I've also seen people throw in a lot of unnecessary bulk (side dungeons made in a day) in a futile attempt to convince others it will take over 100 hours to play, instead of 8 hours like that one person who played through one of the LP games back in the day took.

If enough bugs and minor annoyances have been worked out, I'll try this again. The download size is always something that keeps me away, though.

EDIT: Hah! Well that was short lived. Your "first real battle" froze up on me. I guess your targeting spells are bugged because even so much as clicking the decision key in the right spot will sent it into a frenzy of rapid name message displays. The battle animation is displayed, then battle freezes up though I can still hear the scrolling sound until I click again, leaving me to listen to the music. This also happened if I just cast the Fire Ball spell and click Divinity with the second person.

It's a interesting game, slow leveling though, can't remember the "penis" ship. lol. At least I don't have too. I'll take my time with it, I'm on normal difficulty, defeated a thief awhile ago.

Uhm not really, a lot of texts have been sped up, like from events tutorials etc. big events story telling  texts did stay the same. I already told you before that there is too many text to sped up it would take me months to do so, and to be honest you're one of the few who complains about it. People don't mind it because the texts that they see a lot are sped up but the story telling is not.

About the walking speed, soon a patch will come out with a running system like Wild Arms. That way it cannot interfere with the rest of the events. I don't think its that slow how it is now, you are prob used to a lot of game who have a faster walking speed.

About the ship, that has also something to do with the story, why that ship is shaped that way, cant tell you why because of spoilers ;)

@Benos

The leveling is slow because this game is big  :) If the limit of rpgmaker was higher than level 99 I would have used more levels. Though orb levels can go till 250.

I'm aware of that, it only happens at the first battle if you use a spell in the first turn. It does not happen afterwards.

Fine, I'll leave the ship alone. Suffice to say it kills any drama you try to build up.
I can understand that redoing it all now would be a pain. But lets be honest for a moment dude.
The walking is slow, the text is slow, the leveling is slow even the orb menu is slow. Is it at all posible that you only did this to artificially extend the length of your game? Some people may be fine with that, but I for one would much rather play a 20 hour game that flows smoothly than a 90 hour game that makes me feel like Im watching a loading screen every time I talk to an NPC.

Thats my feedback for you and I hope you try to keep these things in mind if you ever make another game.

The fact that you completed and continue to improve on your game is worth some praise though. Unfortunately it seems the problems I have with it are all the way down at the core of its design. Its just not for me.

No, there is NEVER too much dialogue to speed back up to default, and frankly, if this is your work ethic when it comes to game design, I can't even see how you managed to finish the game itself. Your excuse is invalid, as anyone could go through your entire game in a day or two and take out all references of the text speed command and that would fix your problem. The same applies to your movement speed, which I doubt is ever referenced beyond the first scene and is only left that way to, as Maxximum clearly put it, extend the length of your game. It's just that simple. Don't be lazy.

It's not like that if I sped up the text that it changes from a bad game to a very good one in your eyes. If you really like a game you can live with something as small as slow text speed. There are a lot of good games out there will even slower texts.

Also the running speed is being worked on like I said before. But bear in mind that there's a very big chance lot of unforeseen bugs can come because of that.

If you not want to play the game because of something small like slow texts that is of course your own choice, but you might miss a lot of fun and a good story and challenging game play.

@Maxim

The leveling is slow because the game is big, if it was at normal speed you would have been at level 99 at half of the game. If I could go higher than 99 I would have done that. But now I covered that up by making the book, orb and s.a.s.s.

So you want people to have to suffer through your game instead of enjoy it?  You're just finding excuses.  I have read topics about your games for a while (never cared enough to play them) but people have been making THIS SPECIFIC COMPLAINT the whole time so the fact that you aren't doing anything about it means that you're just too lazy to fix it.  Apparently this is the one thing that is turning people off to your game (besides the penis ship) and it doesn't actually affect the heart and soul I guess of your game at all, so there is no reason you should be trying to avoid this.

Also yes, some games have slower text speeds.  However most games don't, or at least have user-defined scroll speeds.  Most of the slow ones are old games too, and it's pretty insufferable to have to go through nowadays.  First thing I do in almost any game is speed up the message text to the fastest option.  Why do you think people should be forced to trudge through your game that you want them to love?

I still think it's just to try and hit that supposed 90+ hours of gameplay that the game brags about.

DreaMaker (http://www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26497) can extract every dialog in the game into a txt file, so it wouldn't even take a minute to change the speed if the problems have been fixed (it simply stopped inserting the changed dialog because of some maps for no apparent reason)

Really? Going to try that out now thx!

Patch 1.6 will come out soon with a walking speed system with stamina going to try to add the texts as well, however you guys need to keep in mind that the encounters are doubled too if you are walking twice as fast. If I need to change that as well I need to change the whole balance of the whole game again. So yeah the walking speed will be faster but you guys will have faster encounters.

Edit: The tools really seems to work greatly, I will sped up all the texts with 50% in the next patch!

Just make a text speed selection option. All you have to do is replace the fixed number with a variable and add a small event that sets it.

Can you put a variable in the \s[] command? I never knew that.
