I wouldn't call Donkey Kong 64 a game more than it is a Collecting Simulation.

you couldn't be anymore wrong brah
the ranger games are pretty good and even though i hate the dungeon games i assume people who like that kind of game would enjoy them.
also pokemon trozei is an awesome addictive game

and pikachu's adventure looks just as good as any zelda game maybe for a bit younger of a crowd. i will probably buy it.

the dungeon games are pretty good for commercial roguelikes actually. I love me some roguelikes! I'm a big roguelike fan, and sometime's you'd rather use a thunderbolt on a pidgey than die on dungeon level 2 because you drank from a fountain and summoned a water demon

I'd consider the pokemon dungeon games to be great "beginner" roguelikes, to learn the ropes with!
don't mind me, just postin' after a few brewskies

I thought the dungeon games were fun but they didn't keep my interest long enough.

I'm excited for Enslaved, even more so that I dont have to wait until 2011. A story driven post apocalyptic action game based on Journey to the West that features lush green environments??? hells yeah!

The game sounds amazing but I had an immediate loss of interest upon discovery that it's not a PC title.

man read books

I don't even know who this was directed to but reading and playing games aren't mutually exclusive.

yeah i was being midgit as fuck and i think it was just the general disgust about how all of this is either just really bland and/or wastes good opportunities for cool ideas (fallout now feat. jungles, wow i'm amazed if it has anything to do with journey to the west other than nominally!).

and then again it's DS critisizing who made almost one quarter of the posts in this topic getting excited over a boring zelda game and a fucking donkey kong country remake. this + after shitting up on earl in new gw topic about talking about GW's potential
and immidiately after this went to "rip GW reminisce good ol times :_)" - topic to claim YUP SOLDAT/2005 WAS THE BEST TIMES OF GW, ahhahha be as casual as you want but don't wonder if it's hard for me to take you seriously.

Well, all platformers of that era were kind of like this to be fair.

I don't even know what you're trying to say in the second paragraph, but Enslaved looks nothing like Fallout except that I guess both are videogames set after the fall of major civilization.

Donkey Kong 64 went a little too far.
There were:
Golden Bananas (five per Kong per level)
Colored Bananas (each Kong had to collect 100 per level)
Coins (character specific)
Rareware Coins
Nintendo Coins
Boss Keys
Crystal Coconuts
Headphones
Film for taking pictures of Banana Fairies
Banana Fairies of which to take pictures
Ammo
Orange Grenades

Comparatively, Super Mario 64 had:
Stars
Golden Coins
Red Coins

no dude, more like it's hard to take you seriously before you get over this whole e-puberty phase you've been going through

is it wrong that i enjoyed gw when it was at its most active and most of my really good friends were still around and active? is it wrong to not like gw as much anymore because now instead of chatting with my good friends i have to read your dumb posts (which by the way usually take forever to read because you have no clue how to be cohesive)? AND SORRY FOR LIKING GAMES RAMCI. go read your books and let me enjoy my own things. you're being such a fucking douchebag right now.

you made a dumb post. i just pointed it out and then you flip out when this topic has nothing to do with the new gw topic. and i'm shitting up whatever?? sure. and you know, you probably won't even admit you are being dumb/wrong right now but you will later or at least you'll KNOW later but you just won't say it out loud.

ps new donkey kong country isnt a remake its a new game :rite:

Yeah, didn't remember it had all that to collect. It's even more than Banjo-Kazooie.
I guess that's why the genre died soon afterwards.
