League of Legends is a free online DotA-like game.
I just started playing a few days ago and it's pretty fun. I'm 8-11 in 5v5 Normal Games after starting out 0-7.
I'm trying to learn the time wizard guy; his ultimate ability brings someone back from the dead if they die within 15 seconds after you cast it.

I have 28 more wins than losses and my mains are currently Jax (semi retired) Kayle and Katarina. I just got EZ and although I'm good with landing his skill shots my zoning is p shit so I die easily and I am far from being an adequate harasser which makes me a total nonfactor (though he is fun to play!). I can play a good teemo but those are boring and have no real value in team play which is why I avoid him despite having the best win/ loss ratio with him. And everyone knows how to play Ashe~

sorry farmrush for that horrible game earlier. i know it wasn't all my fault but it didn't help that my power kept blinking on and off all game, probably too many air conditioners on around here. at the end my power just cut off completely. i haven't had a game go that badly in, uh, i don't remember when. then again i usually play soraka lately

also whoever your friend was was spergin out of control the whole game. the other team was clearly outplaying us the whole time, there's no reason to be such a jerk about it.

No worries. Idk what friend that was I think I deleted him for being a d-bag.

I've won 1 in the last 10 games. In my last game I was 15-5-7 and we lost. Before that we were 40-20 and our panth was 18-2 and we lost. I cannot win a game.

Can someone teach me how to play this game?? Also I know they basically stole all their heroes from DotA so does this have that guy who shoots skulls out of his body that I always used to play as? He was the only guy I could play as. I was really bad at DotA but at least I was better than Dhalamar.

If you're thinking about Heroes of Newerth and want to learn it, I think that the only GWers that play it are myself, Medieve, and Ryan (at least he used to, haven't seen him around for a while). If you need someone to show you the ropes just add me in-game (Mateui) and I'd be more than happy to.

And yes that hero is in HoN. It's the Soul Reaper.

HoN is just Dota with a new engine though. Although good for what it is LoL plays out like a true sequel should... although the link between the two games are tenuous at best. Although cosmetically similar they feel like completely different games.

I used to love Dota though. And I fought tooth and nail to bring people over to HoN. But when I got into the closed beta of LoL I couldn't bring myself to come back. I played the same damn game for too long and I welcomed this breathe of fresh air.

I might try HoN again though. From the looks of things it seems like they distanced themselves from the old formula just enough to spark interest in me again.

She's okay as far as how effective she can be but her main draw for me is how fun she is to play.

They really should allow all champions in practice games. I recently bought Mordekaiser, Olaf, and Pantheon thinking they'd be fun to play based off of how  others seem to handle them but they really aren't for me. Kat is really where it's at though. You can go either way with her because her ultimate scales on both AD and AP (picks the higher of 50% AD or 30% AP) so you can play her as either caster or melee dps (though try not to hybrid her... that doesn't end well. Add the fact that her skills require nothing but their respective cooldowns and you can probably see why playing her is so liberating. I personally love bouncing blades. It's an excellent last hitter and once it's leveled high enough the bounce is almost guaranteed to hit an enemy champion. It used to be more useful at harassing enemies head on at lower levels but they decreased it's initial casting range recently.

There is a draw back though. She has ridiculously low defenses and attack speed. Although you are free to build her however you please if you don't sacrifice something odds are she wont be very effective. I usually go AP because several items ap items (rod of ages, rylai's scepter, haunting guise, etc) comes with HP which is an enourmous bonus... not to mention how Scepter adds slow to her skills and ring adds the 2 second invincibility. These bonuses are very important because Kat is always the no. 1 target. If you go against a stunner you almost always have to go veil because if you don't you'd be totally worthless in team fights because they actively save it for you when you ult. If you go AD you will ultimate do more damage than you could with AP and do so without about 500-600 physical attack damage.... but without attack speed modifiers her DPS is shit so you have to decide whether or not you want your ult and bouncing blades to do less damage in favor of better DPS or, in both AD and AP, whether or not you want more HP. Kats used to go Leviathan when it added 2 stacks per assist but they die too often to keep the normal one so they opted for Warmogs or Sunfirecape instead. I tried sunfirecape a few times and it does a lot to curb her weaknesses... especially if you go AP build.

So yeah... there is a lot of ways you can go with this one. She isn't a team staple because her flaws be fatal ones but she definitely is a fun play.
