Idk man I think it's actually a good thing to get your degree at an older age because I guess you have experienced LIFE a little more and not been stuck in that education shell your whole life. Like I think at that point you have a stronger sense of what you want to do with your life because you have actually been in the ditch long enough to make your own independent decision about bettering yourself. And I'm not saying this can only be done through school I'm just pretty sure there's a high percentage of people who go straight from highschool to uni or something and end up getting a degree and a job and end up hating because they never really stopped and asked themselves what they wanted besides the typical job with a steady paycheck so they can own a house and pay bills and be miserable until they start a family and have a goal to actually strive for.
I guess a better way to explain would be whenever somebody asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up and I told them I always got this kind of vibe that they felt this kid (me) hadn't been hit with with the cruel reality of what the world really hands out to you and while a lot of pictures are painted pretty nothing's ever as pretty as their picture makes you believe, if that makes sense. Like who gives a fuck about where you work it's going to suck and you are going to hate it and the grass is always greener blah blah blah. So I think it's pretty noble to go after something you hope and dream for but if you already think nothing is going to come from it why go do it? Unless you just want the knowledge and experience you get from it which is fine but I think this is something you really have to ask yourself because while I think most of us here are young enough to kind of put it off for another few years the future is going to just get bleaker the more you do. And I kind of direct this to anyone who is at any point in their lives whether you are working a shit job or going to uni for a 4 year degree or something, are you really thinking ahead here? The question every teenager hates is "where do you want to be in 10 years, 20 years?" People kind of blow it off and just think a few steps further then where they are at now, set themselves down a path and follow it to the best they can. Idk I guess what I'm trying to get at here is when plans fall through it really stinks and maybe you don't have a plan you are just kind of coasting and that stinks too. I think its essential to take a few days maybe even a few months to meditate on what you want your life to be because it's too short lived and while it's never too late to change the clock never stops and never goes backwards. I think if you want to be successful at anything you need to clear any doubts you have in your mind about what you want or what you are doing.
Whoops I kind of went on a rant here
