So apparently UPRC brough up the newest chaingame and awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww heeeeeck what do you think of this.
we are a fucking circle anyways at this point so i had this thought about a game where people who can pool in their own scenarios and we'd call it A Game. for fun and/or for expression. just make it a string/sequences of scenarios.

i have no idea of your free time or how much motivation you have for this. i can't even call this AMBITIOUS, it's bit like bringing something to christmas party or whatever. i got a week of free time!
maybe the time span would be one day to two, three weeks? rm2k3? whatever you have in mind/are comfortable with, i just don't think this is something worth of getting anxious over. too many projects die because of this (threshold). nanowrimo 300 words min...

I would be up for this!! Let's make a gametape guys. There's a bunch of cool_kids here with good ideas and it would be fun to have everyone throw in something quick for this i think.

RM2k: i picked it up after like two years of not touching it (just when you think youre out they pull you back in...) and it took like half an hour to figure it out again and most of that was the image specifications, if all that means anything

basically theres a lot of room for looseness and that should probably be the focus!! i just liked the idea of wandering around like a collective world instead of seeing everyone scramble to make minigames or bosses or whatever
yeah uh i'm kinda waiting for earl jamie hundley ryan drulechefadelinekaworuvelfireetcetcetc responses also EVEN DIETCOKE w-what do ya think of this ya old dog...

jamie: We'll propably use RM2k or RM2k3 + same version/program for eveyone to minimize incompatibility issues? it's the lowest common determinator of all time + it's ridicilously easy to learn and work with.
"i picked it up after like two years of not touching it (just when you think youre out they pull you back in...) and it took like half an hour to figure it out again and most of that was the image specifications, if all that means anything"

earl: we'll see if this happens but eg. like myself i have a week of free time before i'm off to music school so welp?!? so i think there's no need for deadlines, we'll just hand out the newest version of the project to whoever is willing to work at the time.

the big thing about this is that this could actually WORK OUT because of low treshold and the idea of looseness/free of exression?! it would be a cool, relaxed game-mixtape  :sport:

I think that AGS should be used. The only real difference is that RM has battles. DO WE WANT SIDE-ON BATTLES?

Just use rm2k3 because its easy to find and requires absolutely no thought or effort whatsoever to use and also would make it a lot easier if everyones using the awful default guis or whatever. Basically I think this isn't meant to be like a real game / BEST OF GW / some contest entry thing with real effort put in but just a quick thing with short time commitments where we can all toss ideas around! Or that is my take anyway. Also t.b.h. I'd rather play something kind of crude and interesting from people like Jamie or Ramci or whoever who might not have made games before than play more polished stuff from the like four people here who are still active in gamemaking shit.

I'll make a segment for this if we're doing it I reckon. I'm sure I can work out basic rpg mucker usage and three tile rule.

How would you manage this? Would it be like pass the parcel i.e. would a person have like X number of days to work with it or is there a general plan we have to work to?

They didn't teach me anything about this in engineering management!!!

I've never done a chain game thing before but the only way I can see something like this working is if we have a general outline to start with, with each person knowing more or less what situation the player will be in at the start and end of their segments, and they can do whatever shit they like from the planned start as long as it results in the planned end. idk.
