I wish more people quoted entire posts covering each point individually. It kind of proves your reading and shows you aren't dodging anything which can potentially lead to misunderstandings. I mean its time consuming but like, showing your work for arguements/discussions is kind of important.

Then again I suppose maybe some people don't have the time/patience to do that.

Well, he interpreted that as if you were insulting him when you were bringing up that you thought he was being a homophobe (at least to a degree) and he escalated by saying "only an asshole would think oogling is harassment" and you must have took that as him calling you an asshole and yeah it just sort of continuously spiraled from there I guess.

The insults slowly became stronger and more direct.

Anyway, aaaaaaa, yeah most places on the internet wont be full of reasonable people that you can do that with. but that's generally a sign that they aren't worth bothering with because they are trolling. (seriously trolling has largely ruined reasonable discussion on the internet)

And technically, arguing never evolved as a skill to discover the truth unfortunately. Being good at winning arguments evolved as a form of showing dominance. I Hope that most people eventually realise this and actively stop themselves from doing so. My dad used to be extremely stubborn and never let go of or admit he was wrong during an argument. It was pretty clear why and it was fucking annoying.
