Best program for this? Is it even possible in an RPG Maker? I know it's possible in Game Maker, but also quite difficult. I can't find a RTS Maker anywhere; anyone know of any?

I'm looking to make a game I used to play on paper back in junior high. Basically, two player each with multiple units with different abilities. Units would not move in groups and there would be 3 races to choose from.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Somebody built a turn-based strategy system in Ruby for RPG Maker XP(?) where, with a little fiddling, you can plug in your own graphics, characters, stats, etc.  I played with it for a couple of hours and got absolutely nowhere.  The interface was pretty simple, though, no programming required.

hi there.

you might want to check out construct, it has an RTS engine built in to it, but i haven't used it properly so i don't know what the capabilities are like. but based on the other pre-built stuff going on in construct, i would say it is probably very flexible. worth checking out anyway.

I agree with Dicko.
Construct can and will do a good RTS system.
