ps: ending screen of the c64 ghostbusters game:
i dont know anything about the game but it looks like some amazing cross between business sim / WALL STREET KID and a spooky occult ghost dimension.
The Ghostbusters game is by David Crane. It embraces the mercenary nature of the Ghostbusters and it's all about starting your own Ghostbusters franchise with a bank loan to cover your starting costs. You go into the SHOP screens and you build your ECTO-1 by picking one of three cars and adding gear like "GHOST VACUUM" and "GHOST BAIT" (which looks like a tin of cat food. I think was called "GHOST FOOD" in the Famicom version. The first or second website I ever had was named after that. "GHOST FOOD.")
I still have no idea how to play the thing, though I haven't tried in many years. You drive around the map and try to catch ghosts for money so you can buy more upgrades and eventually climb up the tower to fight Zuul. All of the versions are difficult but NES version is basically completely broken.
I love the game because it understands that Ghostbusters is about guys running a business and takes that premise to a logical step forward. Ghostbusters II failed because it tried to clone the first film without understanding things that made it work.
