OH yeah I remember learning about the bar-bar thing in school (well... not IN school... as if... I was school age) and I remember getting the horrible realization that it was literally just this

It's just the asshole kids on the playground going Derka Derka and Ching chong Bing Bong but 2000 years old lmao. and now it's one of the most toothless, high faluting insults. So you can call someone a HURR DURRR to their face and even though everyone knows what it means it still comes across as cutesy and harmless. Kind of blew my mind that society was not capable of filtering that one out.

I remember your post about it in this thread like five years ago

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Jewish_legendary_creatures

There are practically enough for a full roguelike alphabet

Quote
Bar Juchne or Bar-Yuchnei is a colossal legendary bird from Jewish mythology which was believed to have a wingspan large enough to block out the sun.

The first mention of the creature comes from the Talmud (Bekhorot, fol. 57 col. 2)[1] which tells of a Bar Juchne egg falling from its nest and destroying 300 cedars and flooding 60 villages/cities.[2] The Talmud says of the event: 'The question therefore arose, "Does the bird generally throw out its eggs?" Rav Ashi replied, "No; that was a rotten one."'[1]
JRPG plot and dialogue

Quote
It is said that it would be roasted, along with Leviathan and Behemoth, and served at a banquet for the Children of Israel at the coming of the Messiah.[3]
Giant roasted bird on platter

I guess it won't come across as bigoted if the research is uber-obvious, still, internet idiots

dude, everything about Rome was bro culture, I think they even had 'smonks weed, sucks a bro's dong and forgets when sober'

they had 'it's not gay if you're the one boning the dude'

Edit: jo crystals probably existed in Rome, except it invoked the pantheon or whatever

Edit: I worry now ancient Greece was just like, HOMONORMATIVE but at least they're weren't Rome lol

Edit: I think every culture that ever accepted bi had a loophole, either 'phase' or 'boys will be boys' or whatever

Edit: not boys will be boys, wild oats but gay, alternately 'gay is ok but settles down at like, whatever age'

Edit: is it true Kabuki in Japan was, first women but people fucked the women actors, then young men but people possibly the same people fucked the young men actors, then finally older men and finally that worked cause TOO BUTCH

Edit: I was suggesting in the chat that Tetsuya Nomura secretly idolizes old timey Japan pederasty. Kingdom Hearts hero learns to handle that key sword thing. And that his style is basically, yes horrible mutant of anime and emo but also young man version of imvu

Edit: did the old designer, Yoshitaka Amano, get fired or leave. Because the only worrisome thing I remember there was some art of Gau maybe, like he was way more underdressed than the actual game or nothing. And Amano is legit enough he could've just meant purity or something

Edit: shit, the one art is midriff. The other might be come hither

Edit: it could still be, when the art is the artist himself. I get the vibe

please salt w this, i remembered what was the ultimate contradiction to me, that drug culture people say
Quote
"I guess, I just don't like when people reason, 'physical world doesn't really exist' after taking a substance, because then it's implying you actually came to a conclusion and no substance use actually happened because substance, the literal substance and the concept of substance doesn't exist? MENTAL TRAPS exist under the guise of 'deep'. Unless I'm interpreting these people wrong but I'm pretty sure that people reach this conclusion and mean it literally"
please explain, are these people being literal and totes serious? or just poetic? Or are there the poetic ones and they're secretly laughing at the ones that take it literally?

I don't know wtf you or I am talking about but it's probably a combination of motives like always. Ideas are never advanced by just one unified cause. Or I can't think of any. Like even something fake, lame, manipulative and obvious like Scientology, you've got people who don't benefit from it at all treating it like a regular religion just cause they don't know anything. Solipsism has doubtlessly been bruited sincerely or not, and on the perpendicular axis of awaredly or not, by countless weeded out dipshits. I know a bunch of weedhead solipsists and I hate them all because everything they say sounds so god damn stupid, they're all doing it sincerely and aware of their sincerity and relishing it (because society has a huge moratorium on honestly enjoying things for what they are, it's refreshing to be whole heartedly stupid in love with anything. That's like the whole attraction behind "love" which is the rudder for most stories and entertainment: I give up caring about everything else so I can just have fun chatting with, fucking and goosing this person I like. Etc. only beauty in world is the impermanent, Fun Is That Which the Body is NOT Obliged to Do...) I don't know what poetic genius looks like anymore. I can only ever see it (allowed to) in the most very stupid things.

That’s when all goes right, of course. But what about when the life-energies are misappropriated? What happens when something goes wrong?

The mythic structure of the Kabbalah provided many colorful answers to that question: demons and dybbuks, golems, and ghosts are all the results of misspent life energy. But the Kabbalah does not develop its ideas out of nowhere; they are part of a long history of Jewish speculation about shedim (demons, also a word used to refer to foreign gods) and demonic personalities such as Lilith.

jo crystals making their way into judaism as well i see

i legit think it would be a cool idea that adapts well to jrpg like kabbalah is already weirdly referenced in in FF, and Xenogears probably. and Nocturne. my jewish friend said they don't believe in hell? demons are trying to make a hell or something... a really high-level hip old rabbi helps you out at the very beginning kicking ass and spouting relevant wisdom before he gets murked by super dybbuks.

Bar mitzvah is like Ness Magicant level boost. Just spitballing here.

it's only me gods17 i forgot my pw again.

I don't know what poetic genius looks like anymore. I can only ever see it (allowed to) in the most very stupid things.
I had a video of that Noir anime with that song Canta Per Me (there is like a Latin an Italian and a French song and that's cool, Japanese people seem to RESEARCH way more than us for even an insignificant thing like an anime or an early final fantasy game) and so I had a videogame-y "way too literal translation sounds surreal" moment where there is a lyric WE FLY TO THE RADIUS and I think it means "the sun" but it totally blows my mind, expressing the sun thru a (mathematical to me) concept like Radius. And then later on I infer without consulting a dictionary that "oh so radius means 'spread from the center'" (at least one definition) and then I realize with "radiation" I always had a phobia about the word, a (secondary and inaccurate?) definition of it as RUSSIA COMMIES NUCLEAR WAR THE NUKE METAL GEAR SOLID kind of whatever. When all it has to mean is this radiation stuff spreads out from the nucleus or whatever. and then finally I do it "the sun is a big circle with a radius that radiates radiation" lol

back to Japanese people actually researching to an extent, and the rpg maker scene, it was kind of clinically insane when you think about it because I don't think maybe people used the opportunity to consult wikipedia and stuff and actually learn to make a more convincing MIDDLE AGES WORLD or in one case SAMURAI WORLD, we were all trying to be Tarantino and have a hip cool intuition which was actually more straining your brain trying to form previous media into an original work

Edit: I don't know if Tarantino actually steals shots from other movies yet, I know he samples them for soundtrack, but like does he also believe in the "hip cool movie as a neural network (without enough data) of previous movies" thing

that would actually be a pretty original motive and bad guys, you go down to hell but it's like a prototype of hell and by winning you stop hell from being made. lol

Edit: it could be like that movie The Cell and hell isn't really thought out yet and it's just this hodgepodge of messed up real life stuff

this album title just means "I remember playing Goldeneye 64 in my playroom as a young bloke and it was hella relaxing despite moments of frustration"

is it still word salad when you can analyze your reasoning behind it

there should become a trend where Jamaican people get typecast as Jacob Marley from a Christmas Carol because some producer mixed up Bob Marley with Jacob Marley

for all the conspiracy posts and videos about MGS2, people forget Kojima states it like "the Patriots are ghosts" or "a consciousness that formed in the White House". I know a guy who thinks like, crooked stuff exists but it doesn't REQUIRE an illuminati-type group? And my perspective would be that stuff is a modern day ghost story or boogeyman but that stuff is still gonna influence real life. Trump probably sincerely believes the stuff like that Obama is wiretapping him (lol I almost want this to be true but as a good thing). There's also theories that conspiracy stuff is just a substitute for religion in a less religious society, because society wants a 'devil' figure. There's plenty of stuff out there as far as explaining it

and then Trump might be delusional that he's IN the illuminati. There was a speech one time where he's like 'I've been there in the secret club' and then implying whatever, they drank champagne while sacrificing babies haha. Trump, such a loser he's not in an illuminati cause it doesn't probably exist, but in his speeches you can probably find moments where he's constantly knocking on the door going 'i wanna join too i wanna'

maybe that was Trump's motivation for campaigning in the first place, he thought upon becoming president the shadowy dudes would contact him and he wanted to PROVE IT so bad he ran and spent all this money campaigning lol

journalists or whatever, don't do enough to leave open the possibility of a moment where Trump could be in the press conference etc. and just totally devolve into a batshit insane rant or word salad or both. Expose his schizo thought process

did hideo kojima ever make a JRPG? with all the gay undertones in Metal Gear what the HECK would this potential JRPG look like? Would just go all out and set it in sparta or whatever?

I realized most JRPGs can be rewritten as "teenage looking anime man learns to handle a big ass sword and discovers himself/his TRUE POTENTIAL"

edit: alternate reading of 'big ass sword', the sword is intended for ass

I'm not going to infiltrate the place myself but still want to contribute to the discussion: yeah there are also like, mollusc furries, and invertebrates like slugs. And all the weirder animals by nature of the beast tend to be more open to including androgyne gender cues. I mean because slugs are bald.

hahahaha i don't remember if I said something previously or you just THOUGHT OF THAT as an independent thought

were you talking about whatever about how greece was maybe unhealthy in the other direction and the only hope to be healthy about sex is to become mollusc furries thru genetics

one time I asked a deer furry... would cutting off the antlers be 'trans'. Does like gender choice of clothes always come back to animal traits no matter how abstracted from the original thing. Is the old timey puffy dresses just like, plumage. Is nazi hat projecting authority like a bird crest. Do all punks want to be hyenas

how-to Hough transform

if you look up 'types of transforms', like maybe 'mathematical transforms' on google you can get pretty dank into some info like how JPEG works and other things. FFT is known for audio but a lot of this stuff is done in 2D for image processing (sound would be '1D' technically, stereo doesn't count)

also there is this distance transform thing

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distance_transform

and VALVE CORPORATION comes up in the article but just something about fonts?? Was hoping it'd be something cooler about the graphics engine. Did Valve innovate this and get danker with math concepts in their game code or are they just more open about it in interviews?

Edit: arbitrary precision, stuff like calculating pi to 10,000,000 digits uses something called a number theoretic transform and it's about dividing the number into a big ass array and treating it as one big number. And it uses this CHINESE REMAINDER THEOREM as a core idea from like 300 AD, were they doing this kind of thing on abacuses. Jesus christ China

Edit: yeah this way of doing arbitrary precision, even the decimal number you treat as a decimal number with the point moved over/scaled to integer I guess, and then you do this CLUSTERFUCK OF MODULO and it can scan the array of numbers as one bigass number correctly

Edit: not saying they actually simulated arbitrary precision on an abacus but it sounds feasible the way it's explained
