idk. I can't find any searching for smb skeleton sound effects.

edit: found it searching for dry bones but I can't download it. it's ok, but I think the exact sfx I'm thinking of comes from one of the castlevanias.

ahahahaha this is really good. i think i posted this in here already but the weird whistles remind me a lot of  V I D E O G A M E S.

i keep showing people that song. . . some day i hope to write the "definitive" work on the weird Age Of Aquarius tendancies in 90s computer shit which may draw heavily on that song. . . not to mention Little Big Adventure, Myst, the incan panpipe vid, probably a million others i keep forgetting. . . that strange playstation demo mode where you rotated a camera around a whale or dinosaur 3d model to some shitty music. . . t u r o k . . .

in the meantime, this strange movement can be summed up in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLGRSOfnnUM . . .

(also maybe worth thinking about is how this tendency corresponded with stuff like mortal kombat / nesticle culture of same period?? "two sides of the same coin")

also here's a cool old VHS game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EM28AgYoUAE you are now officially a member of the "soliders of the future". prepare to take down lord dread and his b.i.o. d.r.e.a.d forces. it's hard to tell but it looks like this thing was actually played by shaking a little plastic spaceship at the tv screen.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rtl8ZVtXWE&feature=related "doorways to horror". stock art of ghouls & skellies intercut with decontextualised old monster movie footage and instructions to pause the tape while rolling die. im in love!!

Love the dog in "Little Death," especially his texture. Dog should have been the star.

I actually had access to Captain Power tapes + jet. It kept "score" of the number of times you shot the flashing shit, except not the flashing things that were "projectiles" that would damage you. If you got hit enough, the little dude in the cockpit would eject and it was "game over" (rewind the tape, I guess.) Seriously, this was a real thing.

just listening to Frog World tracks again I hope everyone who reads this topic has heard it. Anyway konakof1.mp3 really hit me, which I kind of didn't like it at first because it was so minimal. But now it kind of like scares me that I made it, I dunno if I'm just a pussy but it reminds me of like some 8-bit version of hell where it just consists of being lost in this uncanny frightening sort of place and just wandering forever. Also it's blue instead of all that red fiery bullshit. I dunno I'd like to know if this is a sort of objective effect or if it's just some personal thing, or a little bit of both. Like NES soundtracks as 90's American kid version of weird freaky depressing British children's shows. In general I'm still trying to figure out if old game stuff is just associated with some bad memories to me or if it would be kind of weird to anyone who really thought about it/no childhood experience

also explanation for baby mama the famicom. I like had this vision of a theoretically NES version of that Tina Fey movie with crappy digitized version of the logo here is a mockup http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/808/babymama.jpg/ also you must listen to this at the same time

I don't actually see any computers inside the Computers Club. It looks more like a space for karate/judo practice. Maybe they're having trouble with thieves/brigands in that region.

here's a game i really want to play right now:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mmxCv0sIzM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaSqQlD4jnU ignore the voiceover
http://www.metzomagic.com/showArticle.php?index=199

those are all the videos i could find btw. it's called "The Space Bar" and was apparantly a collab project between Steve Meretzky of "Zork" and the dude who made the goofy aliens from the Star Wars cantina scene. the game apparantly takes place in.. a space bar with around 40 alien dudes, who you have to talk to in order to work out which one is the evil shapeshifter i guess. but as well as talking to them it's mentioned that you get information by going into their memories, which takes the form of a minigame. the memories are self-contained puzzles in which you see things from the perspective of the alien; the giant insects view of the world takes place through compound eyes, etc. the intent is to solve these memories to find your partner before the time limit goes, i guess.

navigating memory and representations of the world in an adventure game filled with bizarre 90s 3d mutants. this sounds pretty ace i think!

The Best Days Of Our Lives

ive got nothing else to post, sorry... with possible exception of this cool bootleg sonic vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsyOmvfDLOs the intro is so good. i think it might be my favourite intro to anything. intro equivalent of piecing through blurred screenshots in effort to form comprehensible narrative

and this is for ragnar http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2007/03/79_versions_of_.html step thru the electronic veil..

(ps ragnar i havent forgotten about that album you posted and im gonna by as soon as my spacefuneralgamejoltadmonies transfers to paypal, unfortunately i have nothing else in account...)
