I've never heard of this game ever

battle system is weird it's like they had to make it reminiscent of an RPG with random battles. It's interesting though it doesn't seem like you can avoid getting hurt?
It looks like it's probably where the bizarre battle "system" in the Tingle DS game came from. I saw something where the dude seemed to avoid going into the little cloud by having a weapon equipped?

With a system like that, you could probably set up more puzzley areas where you have to manage your dwindling HP versus the enemies you have to get through, so they would really function more like gates that you have to expend a resource to open.

Just speculating based on a few minutes of video, though.

There's finally a translation patch for "Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru" aka "For the Frog the Bell Tolls" aka the game that Link's Awakening was built from. I have no time at all to try this right now so fuck the world.

I've been playing this game and it rules. The battles in this game are automatic, which I like since there is no dumb button mashing. When you touch an enemy it starts the battle. You can try to escape/use items but other than that you can't do anything

Did someone say Link's Awakening?  I'm in.  I'm downloadin' it.  I'm there.  I'm with it.  I'm gonna play it!

But could one of you dudes post/PM me a link to the patched rom file?  I don't wanna deal with finding patching software atm.

any news on that N64-style game GW (oops I mean Saltworld) was working on? I'm thinking of working around with some different track ideas again. For acoustical effects could somebody record it off a playstation CD player when they're done to see how it sounds maybe?

http://tindeck.com/listen/pevb

it's for the n64 game

also I made it by basically downloading everything on freesound.org and throwing it together

edit: it was supposed to fade out that's the only edit it needs

I would be impressed if one person managed to vandalize the entire wiki in this fashion

Also I saw "Linda3: Again" mentioned earlier in this thread and thought I should mention everything I've read about it is amazing. The entire concept revolves around an 8-year period where you must collect certain pairs of monsters and put them on an ark before the world is destroyed. It's split into three alternate scenarios with seasons that actually affect the types of NPCs and stores among other things. Overall it's too bad it never got a translation.

this is wonderful

also speaking of cool psx games here is "Tails Of The Sun", by the same company that made Aquanaut's Holiday. Apparantly the goal is to "build a tower of mammoth tusks that reaches the sun" by collecting stuff in this strange washed-out beta world.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eW_9lq4TbrM Dave's Dilemmas for the Spectrum. this looks pretty wild!! control an unemployed 16yo punk on the mean streets of thatcherite britain. fetch cigarettes for your granddad, make disparaging remarks about "glue-sniffers", play in an awful garage band. it's all in a kind of comicbook/dollhouse style that i like. it looks like this is an educational morality game thing rather than a sandbx or whatever, since there are right and wrong answers to the decisions you have to face ingame, but it's still kind of interestingly bleak!
