japan is literally only interested in christianity in the context of vampires and as a way to save your progress, also ideas for summons

scribbles in txt "dino with human teeth"

I had never seen the Hellsing trailer or any of the episodes tho bonz. I probably saw it in an ad of those anime magazines with reviews and sexy anime girls, and thought yes, this seems the most mature and refined anime possible, certainly what the Cool Teens watch...im a 12 year old on the "staff" of a gaming-w website, and I'm trying to masquerade as a mature 15 year old with like a drivers permit and everything. it's the perfect scheme

catamites/weedwizard420 re: bad/poor impressions of christianity in anime - yes, my favorite thing!!! That is, strange representations of some western culture or media transformed into something arcane out of sheer naive enthusiasm for their superficial aesthetic. that's most famously Earthbound, but also many other things and typically creates very nice results. doesn't the christianity aspect appear in Evangelion too? and ofc Castlevania. my least favorite castlevania was always the too-anime one that everyone else loves.

gorgeous and true

Yeah Evangelion is infamous for its crazy perversion of Christianity. It REALLY goes nuts with it and makes every aspect of the show correspond to oblique, meaningless? religious and occult symbolism. IIRC, in the movie finale, the main character's father presses his hand, which is fused to an alien embryo called Adam, into an alien called Lilith to activate the third in a series of world-shattering catastrophes, and Lilith, which has fused with the mute autist clone character and grown to enormous size, denies him control and nullifies the human race into an incipient soup and crucifies the main character's giant robot (which contains his mother's soul to enable optimal mobility) with him inside. At one point a "Spear of Longinus" is used to stab him, it's like this Lego weapon that they were fighting over earlier in the series. Ultimately he chooses to be spat up from the soup and left alone with his female counterpart on the shores of an orange-lit ocean with a gargantuan corpse crumbling on the horizon. It's quite a good, haunting image. Sort of thing that deserves to be ripped off/immortalized and recreated in other works and locales.

What it comes down to is APPROPRIATION.... A scary word nowadays... With more awareness of global MISappropriation. "How precious may images be to you before you allow them to be zombified, exploited, misused, and deconstructed?" Layers of evocation, the advertisement jumps onto nostalgia, spitefully inverts the advertisement, Taking the ball and run with it.

You would get your work out to about half of two hundred thousand people through the wonderful platform of FaceBook.

edit: While I can't find a way to say it that doesn't seem invalidatingly petty, I heavily mislike Cool 3D World because my dumb kid friend shares from it all the time and to me its brand of weird tries too hard.

i didn't watch them yet too much. the still images without audio are powerful though imo

ew pewdiepie brought some of the youtubers there

i still think it's a good idea to send him some tracks and see whose weirdness is more legit, or maybe one or both of us will aspire to something greater

like I'd love to just send the guy some audio and he makes a video and it was done that way, not lol here's some pictures/imagery write music over it

whoa man that whoosh sound is such a dubstep

i guess my liking him would strongly depend on whether he was 'inspired' by wendyvainity or if he reached this sort of aesthetic on his own. hell even chriddof did some good 3d he just didn't make a big deal out of it

I agree you should make contact... make manifestations of Ragnarcontent going... My guess is your weirdness outstrips theirs by several interstellar truck stops. My radar's going POSER WEIRD, POSEUR WEIRD!!!!!! DESTROY THE ITRUDER!!!!!! Always terrified that it'll go off on me own self... But in truth I dislike the presentation more than the content because it's part of and progression of the ongoing culture war to crack open and hollow out everything we hold dear. The first video I saw I was amazed! Even though it was pretty polished and professional to be cracking jokes about abstract fucked-upedness. It's not that that's bad, I loved "going to the store" and all... just easier to swallow... prog rock fan yowling at normies.. Then I realized how many there were and it just seemed calculated. Like another awkward attempt from people with their fingers on the fringe of my fringe to evoke an ersatz uncanny. Grawwww! Fuck you, fuck you, don't move my cave rock! Yaaaargh! Yaaaawwwww!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM1RgFwUIP0 too late for halloween but thought the opening 30 seconds of this are really good "cursed videogame cartridge feeling" before reading the comments and finding out the emulator sound card just messed up!! seeing the different videogame levels float below you in the abyss is kind of creepy.

https://youtu.be/Gytx-FT-hVk?t=32 similarly unsettling virtual boy title sequence recorded in stereoscopic 3d!!

https://youtu.be/JfRf9eSvMrk?t=245 the waterworld game for virtual boy apparently took all its mood inspiration from "donkey kong sunset level" and has weirdly fluid animations, i like the score screen

You're not alone. I have something similar with Zelda II on NES.

As a kid, I was at Ganon's palace really excited to finally beat it. I got to a part where a giant slime fell on me and it somehow switched something in my mind to say that it was a very traumatic event. I froze with fear and couldn't play anymore. It haunted me for most of the year and I had a hard time sleeping. I would sleep in the closet with this irrational fear that a giant slime would fall on me as I slept in my bed. To this day, I can't enter Ganon's palace when playing that game since I get irrationally afraid of that giant slime.

literally was scared of the same thing when i was a kid

edit: can anybody remember find/link to the exact part when this happens? i can't seem to find it and for some reason

edit: screenshot

that's IT???

i could've sworn the thing was like gigantic/took up the whole screen/some kind of pixel stretching effect done to it like the giant world in super mario 3??? how anticlimactic

VirtualBoy is very beautiful. New VR technology resurrects Vb system as it was always meant to be. That video is scary and unpleasant.

I looked up a longplay to see big Slime in action and it was actually pretty upsetting to see link fall through floor into identically-tiled, but somehow much more awful underlevel, where nook in wall unexpectedly manifests an evil freaky face out of nowhere. I always thought zelda 2 was scary and awkard and i've never played it past the first couple of screens.

when I was like 11-12 I watched the LSD dream emulator trailer, which is gone from youtube now so i can't find it, but there's a freaky fucking face of a guy who takes up a whole room and moves in a horrible unhurried PSX idle animation. And in game he fires his head at you so the face zooms up into the camera. Also he could be found, not all the time, but completely randomly, about four feet around a corner from the player's fucking start position!! No, I can't take it... For a while it REALLY screwed me up and I was afraid of opening up my shower curtain and seeing that guy two inches from my face, crammed into bahttub.
other freaky faces: -still image of the giant lady's head in Silent Hill 4. It's not at all scary in motion but to a child & in screenshot form ... disturbing image.
-La La Land 3 by TheAnemic/biggt that fucking duck ghoul on the right... he doesn't move and you can't go past the tree.... there's no point to him being there beyond making my heart stop/ cry out of fear, close window rapidly.

This game is like two minutes long! That just gave it more terrible power.
