Bacon is apparently one of the biggest reasons why vegetarians go back to eating meat. It's kind of a GATEWAY MEAT because as soon as you see and smell it the primate inside you awakens and all you can think of is gettin' that protein and fat.

how do i be a vegeta... why can't we ask how do i be a bonzi buddy for once?

on the serious note, i'm really interested of raw diet right now soooo gimme some help people. gimme arms, gimme hands, gimme five.
i'm uh pretty sensitive to low blood sugar so how can you combine a raw diet to that succesfully? better yet, can you exercise/work out properly WHILE doing raw diet? p-perhaps low-glygemic way, gulp...

it's shit. i don't wonder if you react badly to it, it could be you know YOUR BODY saying that that's gross dude i'm dying. ugh now i sound like doktor but yeah. maybe not allergic but that your body reacts to it badly in itself because of how bad it is. INCOMPATIBLE yeah.
idk i now recognize when my body just react adversely to some foods now that i have been cleaning up my diet a bit.
That is probably the hardest thing. Like I went through a short period of feeling really guilty about meat-eating, but the idea of never having bacon again was the thing that made me just contented in my sin. Of all kinds too, even the kind of crappy bacon you get at fast food places. I feel genuine anxiety about the idea not being able to eat that ever again.
choke in a river and die. bacon hate-wagon 4 life. ~~ bonzi 'basho' buddy. to be honest though i don't think bacon is that common in finland?! like i don't think i've ever seen it in any half-serious restaurant unless it's a fastfood place. i've never seen bacon back in school and that's almost 18 of barely seeing a single bacon.

You can exercise with raw as you can with almost any diet.  All you would have to do is basically make sure you are getting enough calories because many foods raw people eat a lot of like greens aren't high in calories (but high in nutrients).  I'd probably suggest making shakes/smoothies with fruits (and greens) and maybe some coconut oil or avocado for fat and calories.  I know raw fooders that do the 80/10/10 diet and work out so it's definitely doable. Oh, protein to but as I mentioned earlier you don't need a shit ton (even when working out) and you can get it easily with shakes like if you add some nuts/seeds to your shake or if you just eat them.

As for low blood sugar, raw diets are high in fruit and healthy carbs (sprouted grains, fruits) so I don't think it should be a problem.  Also most raw food are low GI.

Fantastic! Welp looks like i need to seriously consider raw diet or alternatively paleolithic diet. I could seriously clean up my body toxics with raw though. I wanna clean up. What's 80/10/10 diet, doktor? also, what about porridges made of spelt? or is that still a no-go being a uh grain? i really like spelt, it feels pretty good but i dunno.
I would avoid coconut oil though (bad colestherol) and just stick with avocado.

80/10/10 diet was created by Dr. Douglas Graham.  It's an all raw diet in which 80 % of your calories should come from carbs, 10% from fat, and 10% from protein.  Apparently from what people say (online so can't know for sure just testimonials) that is it is great.  However, it's almost all fruit like 80% of your diet is fruit the rest it like green leafy vegetables so it's probably expensive.  It's also a lot of mono meals, eating one food at a time for a meal.  For example, a breakfast might consist of like 10 oranges.  I know people on this diet who eat like 15+ bananas a day.  There is also a website forum for people on/intersted in this diet called 30 bananas a day.
http://www.amazon.com/80-10-Diet/dp/1893831248

You can eat grains on the raw diet if you sprout them first.  I sometimes make an pudding/oatmeal type thing using chia seeds because when you soak them in water for like 5 minutes they turn into a gel.  Recently I've been making this with dried fruit, water, cinnamon, sprouted quinoa, and chia seeds.  Also like I said before you don't have to be 100% you can eat like half raw and still get benefits.  I'm not raw but I eat a lot of raw meals.  My breakfast usually tends to be raw because raw bfasts are usually fast and easy to make like the pudding takes 5 minutes and how hard is it to grab fruit?

As for coconut oil, it's fine.  It's high in saturated fats but they are short chain (not long chain found in animal products) and also
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturated_fat#Cardiovascular_disease
"Not all research finds the link between saturated fat and cardiovascular disease clear. In 2010, a meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies found no statistically significant relationship between cardiovascular disease and dietary saturated fat.[12][13]" and
"Meta-analyses have found a significant relationship between saturated fat and serum cholesterol levels.[15]"
Plus when you use it you usually don't use a lot of it and if you're making say a raw dessert that calls for like half a cup of it chances are you aren't going to be eating the entire dessert in one sitting so you won't be getting the whole 1/2 cup.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15329324
"CONCLUSION: The results demonstrated the potential beneficiary effect of virgin coconut oil in lowering lipid levels in serum and tissues and LDL oxidation by physiological oxidants. This property of VCO may be attributed to the biologically active polyphenol components present in the oil."

I've always been extremely skeptical of raw food diets. For one thing, it's very difficult to successfully pull off. You need to know exactly what you're doing, you'll probably need supplements and you can't rely on cooking to get rid of any bacteria that may be in your ingredients. People who eat only or mostly raw food tend to be underweight and I've heard plenty of accounts from nutritionists who say you're better off not doing this (a number of raw foodist beliefs are scientifically controversial).

You don't need to jump right into the absolute most radical type of diet either. You could start by just being critical about what it is you buy and how you prepare it. You can be perfectly healthy by eating meat, fish and a good dose of vegetables as long as you don't buy cheap crap.

Hey Ramci can you explain why you'd want to do a raw food diet?  I don't really see any benefits it would give you over any other sort of diet and the only thing I remember from this coming up a few years ago is some weird site about LIFE FORCES INSIDE OF FOOD THAT DIE WHEN YOU COOK THEM (USE SPECIAL CAMERAS TO SEE THIS) and I do not think that is what you're going for so I am just curious why you'd choose this.  I don't want to have an argument about it I am just curious!!!!!
