I have gotten into watching bad anime, like Ikki Tousen (lol) or the new series, Infinate Stratos (which despite having every anime cliche ever in it, is still more original than Naruto! Fuck, even a Tom Clancy novel is more original than Naruto!). I've tried watching strike witches, but to be honest that just made me want to pull out my eyes and set them on fire (it is beyond bad). Tenjou Tenge is just boring.
Highschool of the dead continues the trend of almost all zombie fiction being ultimately unlikeable (allthough Onechanbara the movie is a really B-movie style B-movie, and thus mildly entertaining)

Ikki Tousen kinda works as a distraction because its just a bunch of fast moving shapes, no real plot and one dimensional characters, so you can just zone out and see the pretty colours and hear the romance of the three kingdoms getting raped by association. Kinda same for IS, its just random colours and shapes, no real plot or characters, and you've seen everything somewhere else so you can just lie there and like pay no attention.
Rio - Rainbow Gate is kinda ok in a distractiony way, but the second episode doesnt work on the website i use, so i gave up.

So yeah, any kinda bad/simple action anime around, point em this way. No long running stuff, and no gundam (the designs are so bland, its like watching cardboard boxes) Like 13-26 episode series' or something.

panty & stocking has fast-moving shapes. abenobashi might work though it was kinda gross. imo both are irritating in that you can see what they're attempting to do but they miss it by such a wide margin because of typical anime garbage.

most of anime is actually boring so i might not waste time on it unless it's hilariously bad or whatever. I would instead waste that time on manga, even manga can come of at least entertaining and not irritating most of time. jojo's bizarre adventure (ALL OF IT jesus christ, all of it after the second chapter/manga), hunter x hunter, vinland saga. i know my shit since i actually use this stuff to waste my time on.

Any Hentai would qualify. Especially the ones that actually try to tell a story. Off the top of my head, I'd recommend Strange Love.

Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari

It's based off of Tenchi (the main character even looks similar, albeit younger) but somehow they made it worse by replacing the sci fi aspect of the harem formula and trading it for elves, mechs, and a magical student academy.

All of these are unwatchably boring though and I can't believe you, of gainax namesake, haven't watched Panty and Stocking yet.

Michiko to Hatchin... this one gives me mixed feelings. They tried really hard with this one... but to what end is anyone's guess. I'm not sure what they were trying to accomplish but I don't think they did it. Whatever the end result was I did indeed enjoy it very much but I do have a habit of liking anime for all the wrong reasons (hint: it's never for intentional reasons)

Yeah, do watch chobits. And if you do like stuff like chobits, then I would go with the suggestion to look up random manga and read that. There are so many more, and not only are they quicker to sort though, you are that much more likely to find stuff that's either really bad, or worse than stuff you'd commonly find made into anime.

It shouldn't be surprising how often you'll find a manga that's essentially chobits but in a different theme/flavor or whatever. (There's this one I couldn't help reading that I can only assume is absolutely right up your alley. They say it's already being made into an anime, so I might wait until the anime actually comes out before telling you which one it is.)

As far as hentais that try and put a story in them, sex demon queen is probably the funniest in terms of unintentional humor combined seamlessly with intentional humor.

hmmmmnnnn, couldn't sleep lastnight so I watched the newest Eva movie (you cannot advance), there's some neat changes compared to the series, but the film covers the space of a few months yet doesn't really say it much, so it feels like characters change their personalities at random for no reason. Like, there is no real concentration on Asuka's relationship with Shinji, so when she starts going weird, it doesn't make sense in the context of the film.
The animation is totally flawless, it is one of the nicest looking movies around.

Mari is TOTALLLY inconsequential, but I feel that will change in the next movie.
The angel re-designs are really neat.

Essentially, it's kind of like the first one, it tries to tell too much in too short a time, and doesn't really try and explain anything. One of the strengths of the series was how it kept referencing the backstory, and like how the people met up etc, but I guess here you're expected to know that already, except it's not the same story so things are different. Another strength of the series was how it had the courage to (and lake of budget made it...) have just extended scenes of nothingness, which really created an uneasy sense of isolation and melancholy. Here, there is no time for that because WE HAVE TO SEE EVAS BACKFLIPPING EVERY THREE MINUTES!!! But it looks like the next movie may finally enter the pretentious psuedo-psychology of the old movies, so I am looking forward to it. Also Kaworu will have much more screentime, which is never a bad thing.
In short, the series and original movies are so much better written (the writer was going through mental breakdown, so it had this real raw unevenness to it, which just makes it work!), and everything makes more sense in them. However the new movies are visually superior in every way (apart from maybe the finale of End of Evangelion, which is just psychotically brilliant), just the writing on a whole sucks, which is a shame as some of the scenes are really solid.
