Already posted this in Feedback but Faust gave me the good advice that it didn't belong there so just posting it again here because for the hell of it and also the chain story 2 chapter five written by xanqui
I miss the old Gaming World. But I'm not making this topic because I think SaltW should aim to live up to what it once was, because that time has passed and the community has died or moved on.
However, I remember first coming to GW as a kid. That was when I started fooling around with Rm2k. I remember how awesome it was to be able to make my own games, even if they were complete crap. I also loved browsing through GW's database of games and play what other people made. This is how I first witnessed classic titles such as Legion Saga, Final Fallacy, The Way, A Blurred Line, and cRaZy_gUy's Journey, to just name a few.
The forums back then were a little more rough to newcomers. It was the age where flaming was mandatory for its existence, but it had its charm. The days when people were posting topics of their "omg so awesome" Rm2k projects like there was no tomorrow.
I think part of the charm was being a kid and it being new, because these days I don't find myself fooling around much with Rm2k anymore either. But I know I will keep opening it up every now and then and play some of those classic games.
Anyway, with this in mind, please look back on
the old Gaming World with pride for once more.
And I just wanted to thank the guys who created GW and its community, because it's been a blast.
