irc's really chill. and once you start theres nothing to be scared of!

drule's topic explains what you need to get started so you should def come.

also you only ever need to open it once because cool people just idle 24/7.

If IRC is taking up all your time you're doing it wrong. Have it open in the background while doing other stuff, or if you have space at the edge of the screen or something.

Like people who spend all their time on twitter/facebook why do they do that

Yeah you don't open IRC and STARE AT IT you just leave it open and if people talk you see what they said.

I'd idle 24/7 but there's no way to mute the sounds in my client (without muting my whole computer) so I close it when I don't want to hear bleeps and bloops.

I'm a Half-Oldbie.
Name used to be Wyrm if you remember me, I was really active on Graphic arts Helping Medieve with projects and Art Jams and Battles. Capt_Strife still lurks but hes gone big now, and I sadly no longer have communications with Medieve, he helped me progress a lot with my art in photoshop and how to 'paint' more realistically!

You where around when i first started about but i dont think much longer afterwords.
