squirtle vs bulbasaur vs charmander is sleecting your difficulty level. bulbasaur's easy because he's strong against the first two gyms, but charmander's ard because fire's weak against rock and water.

it's not selecting the difficulty level.

it's showing the world exactly what sort of person you are on the deepest level.

(if you didn't pick charmander you're a terrible person in all ways this is what i'm trying to say)

That is a fine reason for the choice!

I also like that he was the dissident in Ash's Pokemon crew - always grumbling and shit. I remember that episode where they get separated from their owners, and Bulbasaur is "YOU KNOW THEY'VE JUST ABANDONED US RIGHT? OR ARE YOU NAIVE?!"

And about difficulty? Only easier because Grass pokelmon = the best damn kind of pokelmon around! Oddish + Bulbasaur = DREAMTEAM
