I haven't thought about adding those but I guess I could add some local things without alienating people. How'd you know about those characters anyway? lol. (edit: if you're interested with some Filipino culture, I think our mythologies are pretty good sources for story ideas)
To tell you the truth, I've always enjoyed learning, am fascinated with all the diverse cultures, people, and cuisines in this big world of ours, and always seek to learn more, both to expand my own knowledge and to better understand those around me.
This song sums it up pretty well.As for
Darna and the others, I think I discovered info on
Kalayaan while looking for muscle growth fiction (something I like) and my curiosity was piqued- who were these heroes I'd never heard of? I jumped from link to link, learning about various Pinoy superheroes, then onto Wikipedia, where I also learned about
fantaserye such as
Okey Ka Fairy Ko! Honestly, I think you could bring a unique perspective to the game and open new windows into the world for players; these myths are your own- who better to tell them? So consider basing your plot, at least in part, on local mythology and culture. You may have to explain a few things, but it should be fine, especially if the hero's a
Watson.
Or simply throw it into conversation:
Kay: You don't really think she's an aswang?
Jay: That sweet old lady, a man-eating monster? Nonsense. Can you imagine her flying around at night?
*Both laugh*
Or even :
Elle: That vampire-y thingie, the one that splits at the belly and flies around draggin it's intestines, what did you call it again?
Dee: It's called a
Mannanangal.Elle... Say that again. *Smirk
Dee: Mannanangal
Elle: Doo dooo dooo doo doo
Dee: *Groan* And yes, some RMNers have shown an interest in adding to the chain game, but I want to make certain it goes around here first. Right now it's in Renegade's hands.
