if you don't drink tea you're a criminal. i don't care how you drink it, and there are lots of different methods of preparation and imbibement peculiar to different cultures, but i stand by the aforementioned sentiment.

i only drink diet soda/pop and i find it far superior to the regular stuff. but my drink of choice, my true love, is always and forever tea~~ <3
I've also heard that the diet sodas are worse for you than the regular stuff. Sorry to say, especially if you honestly prefer it taste wise.

Also it really is a bummer that I think tea doesn't particularly taste great considering its supposed to be extremely good for you. But I'm not in the habit of consuming things on the sole purpose of it being good for me unless I'm sick or something.

well warpped maybe you just haven't been drinking the right tea. don't let crappy-quality poorly-brewed bag tea influence your judgment of tea as a whole. maybe you just need to get some samples of really good loose-leaf tea and have yourself a little tea tasting. i think there's probably a tea out there for everyone. just give it time. you're still young. you'll find the right tea. she's out there somewhere.

and i'm pretty sure it's a myth that diet sodas are worse than regulars. i've done some research on that-- and of course, there's many conflicting sources, but it seems that the real scientific truth is that diet soda is basically just water and aspartame, and it would take a LOT of aspartame within a short amount of time to even begin to affect a human negatively. regular soda contains ridiculous amounts of sugar as well as a bunch of other crap; there's pretty much no way it could be better for you than diets are.
semper games.

it's over!!! summer, welcome the ape...  ~ going bananas

also groan, i hope you mean by 'done some research' is that you went over to pubmed and read over the scientific articles about diet sodas & aspartame, fructose, livers role (hepatoxic damage to liver? cant remember) etc etc. pretty much all fake sugars are bad for you...save that one sugar but i can't remember it's name and even that i'd limit a lot.
and to my memory, aspartame leaves the body pr slowly so you are accumulating it regardless. drop that shit if possible. regular soda is much better than any light sodas and even that is shit to ur health.

and fwiw coffee and caffeine is fucking nasty to your adrenal gland among with (chronic stress (somenthing impossible to avoid?? these days)) so i would definitely forget about that for the most part. green tea from whole/quality leaves and good uh race? is probably the best way to go if you want something thats not really hazardous to you in a way or another. i take non-caffeine coffee if i really wanna taste that burnt ashy wood drink (i like the taste yeah)).

Actually I also read, Bonzi, that some benefits of coffee is lost when drank in the form of decaf. I can't remember the details though. *shrugs*

And milk, Vellfire, I hear both a lot of good and a lot of bad things about. But milk is delicious and I'm among the 20% of the world that isn't lactose intolerant at age 20 so I'm drinking it.

The owner of a studio where I occasionally do work on location used to drink cola obsessively. It was just kind of surreal. I told him to lay off the stuff a few times and eventually he managed to quit it, but what a weird thing to be addicted to.

there's an outbreak of legionaires up in scotland and within the predicted radius of the assumed source is a compost source, one of the places where our supplier gets theirs from, so if anybody in the uk wants to buy compost. don't. If a bag splits, we have to wear vinyl gloves and dispose of them straight after, and then wash our hands afterwards due to the moisture content possibly containing the bacteria. Chances are it's not in any of it at all, but nobody's taking the risk. I'm in particular doing my best not to handle the stuff because of last year'ss illness, I'll be high risk. Though good luck if any bacteria thinks it can survive in my medication-filled blood.

Also: I prettymuch live off tea and have about one bottle of pop a day (two if working, 3-4 if shelf stacking (it's good if your stacking shelves with 25kg backs of stones/cement, ya need the sugar energy), but i wont touch those drinks like red bull and stuff. It smells like piss, and gives me all sorts of pains) but tea is what i have to function off of.

it's not commonly thought of as a treat, and most who drink it do so habitually. this is esp true for the poor, particularly the urban poor. many corner stores and bodegas only ever sold junk food, and if they're your main source of sustenance, you're in trouble. that's on top of everything else you've got working against you. I know this isn't new info but it's an immensely important subject that often isn't taught in any level of education

and I personally advocate that it's a treat because I still rly like soda and I don't think everyone needs to drop it entirely. if any of ya want to tho that's good

because you made it sound like people are just dumb and don't know soda is bad when a lot of the people drinking it are well aware, especially here

those who decide to cut it often think it's just the worst, not a treat like cookies or biscotti or whatever
