So that demon Theresa May has come up with the idea of changing the UK citizenship test to emphasise more elements like knowing the national anthem and a bunch of stories about white men throughout history just being so friggin cool. Apparently this is a helpful contribution to society. Why do people go in for this kind of crap? "People are almost encouraged to see what they can get out of the country rather than what they can contribute" said Fucker, highlighting the disgusting contradiction that the self-interested nature of people as free agents in the market is a beautiful thing but when it comes to poor migrants it's all about the primacy of the state. Opportunistic slimeballs, I wish them all nothing good.

Someone tell me how knowing the national anthem and getting a few history lessons improves your ability to contribute to the country. Hey, if they're gonna give you history classes, will that include their Nazi-like treatment of India?

My younger brother's friend, Brad, came up behind me to look at my computer monitor over my shoulder (which he seems to do a lot, despite me telling him its very aggravating) and pointed at my bookmarks and asked me what they were.

I responded, partially dumbfounded "You are certainly a product of this place. Aren't you?" (This place being the boonies of southern Indiana) And then went on to explain to him that they were links that I saved on my computer so I could access websites later without just memorizing the address's. I still don't think he followed.

This is an 18 year old, who's middle class, that doesn't know what a bookmark is.

EDIT: Scratch that, pretty sure he's upper middle class.

we have a government full of Charles Dickens characters (though even that may be far too modern for some of them) and like to hide behind the crumbling facade of national pride as a way to convince people that being british is the most important thing ever. You're not british until you point your pinky out while drinking tea and tell which of the identical faces belongs to which member of the monarchy(it's a trick question, all faces are the same so you can't pick them out, apart from Harry, because his Dad was most likely this wealthy doctor that Diana was having an affair with at the time, but ooops).

some of the characters he chose were really inappropriate. the one i remember most were the rugrats. he did a lot on commission.

I used to be a computer god 15years ago. Since then i'm just a working dad.

http://www.sinfest.net/phpbb2/viewforum.php?f=2

IDK, how much you guys follow Sinfest (You probably don't at all) But I've been lurking their forums and they have been exploding into arguments about feminism. We aren't the only ones apparrently. Then again, Sinfest's older comics could be argued to be somewhat... not-feminist... meaning that the author suddenly putting feminist stuff is making some of his readers rage on the forums in large bickering arguments. (and some quit reading, or at least claim to, impossible to actually verify)

I just thought it was interesting seeing a similarity. (I understand me posting this carries the risk of flooding this thread with sexism/feminism discussion, but it was too interesting for me not to share)

EDIT: is it just a coincidence or has this suddenly become a big topic on the internet? Like, I'm noticing more feminism/sexism stuff in almost all the sites I visit actually. The gaming news sites, various webcomics (Sinfest stands out), etc. Maybe this is just me and my section of the internet? The nerd dominated sections of hardcore video game players and the more motley group that are webcomic readers suddenly having a feminism scuffle?
