Good tasting, not healthy. This was established doc.

Its fast food. So yeah of course its unhealthy.

I still liked the way it tasted. :( But then maybe at least I can stomach giving it up a little easier taking into account I'm supposed to be watching my caloric intake anyway. (EDIT: and I generally do try and avoid stuff with such massive quantities of additives and such, at least in a casual manner)

As for the discussion of John K's work, I haven't seen his new stuff and have lots of vague memories of the original Ren and Stimpy but I do remember really enjoying it. But then again I also watch a lots of cartoons with similar "Lets see how far we can go" mentalities and mostly enjoyed them the most.

I'd say though my favorite kids aimed cartoon though is Ed, Edd, and Eddy which was relatively tame in comparison. I can actually watch it today and find it pretty funny.

I don't really like Chipotle's food, but I read somewhere that they rank pretty high on the ethics scale, so your safe in that respect Earlchip.

it turned something interesting into something cheap that utilizes people's latent homophobia.

I'm not saying that this is your train of thought, and don't let me stop you from thinking something is funny, but it's just that it seems like that's what those jokes were designed for, and that's probably why a lot of people laughed. (ha ha homosexuals)

i dont think that's the intention though(far from it actually) and you seem to be grasping at something to be outraged about rather than taking it at face value and laughing at it for what it is... I mean the whole show was basically anything but subtle so idk why in-ur-face booger/fart/pee/poop jokes are OK but it can't be visually expressive about SEX lest the show become juvenile in some deviant effort to garner cheap laughs from homophobes who think "queers is funny".

ugh it's really really disgusting to tell someone who's offended they're just grasping at a straw, just trying to actively find something to be outraged about rather than just shutting up and enjoying it like a good white male cis heterosexual.

no it's not disgusting because it's not offensive. you are actually being obtuse and have no point at all other than "these animals are gay and having sex, there must be some foul play here because these hypothetical people in my mind may or may not be laughing at it for the wrong reasons"

w/e i don't really wanna talk about it if you're gonna get all cultural-studies student at me, be offended all you like. :)

The difference is farters, booger-havers and peeing/pooping people are not oppressed groups, so the treatment of those groups in media is not really an issue.  LGBT people on the other hand don't have that luxury.  It's a really sensitive issue and it's really important to look at it closely, because if the jokes boil down to "lol the punchline is they're gay and that's funny" that's a dangerous attitude.  Just because that's not what you are doing doesn't mean that's not what others were doing while watching it and I don't see why you think dada is grasping at straws for being concerned about what messages media are giving out about groups that are already in a bad spot.

yeah except that's not what the jokes boil down to, if you'd like i can deconstruct things in such a way that reveals a very normalizing pro-gay perspective but then i'd hate myself for giving any credence to the bullshit you guys are spewing that essentially boils down to "I CARE, I CARE SO MUCH ABOUT THESE THINGS I LEARNED ABOUT, THE OBJECT OF DISCUSSION IS NOT THE POINT, ITS THESE DANGEROUS ATTITUDES THAT EXIST!!"

ps I sort of thought you were mature and were able to have discussions like this with a minimum of respect and without shitting all over people's feelings. why is it that you're dismissing everybody here for just doing this for the abstract college politics exercise? is that because believing everybody's feelings are faked makes it easier to reject them and not have to do any of that annoying empathy stuff?

"I'm a white married cis male heterosexual and according to my analysis, this cartoon's jokes about gay sex actually aren't offensive to you at all."
