No I was there for about seven months off an on.
Its just if you're sitting on a subway or bus or a resturaunt or bar you're usually bound to end up talking with a stranger like that especially if you're really young (I was 19 and it was me and my buddy most of the time) living and working in a foreign country and curious. Like, I'll fly around the states and stuff and I'll eventually have someone ask me about what I do or where I'm going just out of curiousity. When I was in london (I was only in london for like 11 hours) I was with my co-workers and we had several different people talking to us one was a railway operator and another british dude just sitting on the train heard us talking about looking for stuff to go see and he was telling us about shit in london.
Small talk, stuff like that. Happened in japan very few times I was there. Maybe its just the way I carried myself then compared to now though. But even if you just watch how people move around from place to place over there its very automated and non-communicative. They all are either messing with their psps/iphones/ipods and rarely talk to each other if anyone else.
I actually was watching a documentary on either japan or china (I think it was japan though) and it specifically talked about how the people are like that. I'm not trying to confuse the two but from what I understand they're both similiar like that but I haven't been to china yet. Dada would prolly know better though since he's going for tourist reasons and we were just going when we were off work to go drinking and see what we could.
I'm thinking about going to mexico on my off time in a couple months. I'm trying to go somewhere near Ciudad Del Carmen. Because if they send me back out here to work again I can fly out to work and then get them to drop me off in del carmen when I get off and then go where I want and fly myself home.
I'm thinking about one of these three places:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playa_del_Carmenhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holboxhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puerto_Escondido,_Oaxaca They all seem pretty cool though. Holbox seems the most interesting because there are no cars or roads there and you stay in one small hotel or some straw huts on the beach and can swim with whale sharks.
I could get a hotel in playa and then just go to holbox for the day and come back. Puerto Escondido seems cool because pretty much everything is there and it doesn't seem as expensive as cancun or acapoco would be.
I'm gonna try to get one of my friends to go with me or something or maybe I'll run into a good girl between now and then because I hate going places like that by myself. I like mexico alot though, the people are generally very friendly and outgoing, the foods good, and the women/landscape are beautiful. Plus they don't have this biased against americans like some places do. They actually seem especially friendly towards americans.
