You also have to consider that the "MY [marginalized ][/marginalized] FRIEND IS FINE WITH IT" argument implies "SO YOU SHOULD BE TOO", which is totally shit because guess what? Your friend's comfort (which in some cases isn't even actual comfort, as I know there are plenty of times I let things that upset me slide to avoid having a fight with a friend, even if I shouldn't) doesn't trump someone else's discomfort. For example, some women want to reclaim the word slut (see: slutwalk), whereas others would rather the word die entirely. The fact that some women are fine with the word (when used in a positive way) does NOT make it okay to just start calling women sluts because "hey, a woman told me it was fine therefore I can say it to whoever I want". That's why ultimately it's best to just avoid it, especially on a goddamn public forum where you have no way of knowing whether everyone is okay with it. The problem is a dude like Farren just decides that everyone should be comfortable with whatever words he wants to say and if they aren't then it's just their fault for being overly sensitive or god forbid "politically correct" (don't even get me started on this bullshit phrase), instead of actually considering what effect his words have on people.
Basically it shows a complete lack of respect for other human beings because his right to "not be censored" (as if this was censorship in any way) is more important than, y'know, actually wanting people to feel comfortable enough to post here.
