The last few years, my sister has given out Play-Doh in addition to candy for Halloween. I thought this was a cool idea and it kind of inspired me, especially after seeing how much more excited kids get over a little can of Play-Doh than they do for another boring piece of shitty orange saltwater taffy.
So I was thinking what if I did the same thing but with LEGO? LEGO is awesome and expands young minds instead of rotting their teeth. You can do all kinds of cool things with LEGO and recombine them in countless ways, so kids get way more enjoyment out of them in the long run than those awful Smarties rolls that everyone hates.
The only problem is that LEGO sets are expensive. I figure $100 is a pretty good budget to be spending on random anonymous privileged white suburban kids from Seattle, which means if I can get LEGO sets in the $4-$5 range that means I can give out 20-25 sets. That limits my options a lot, but hopefully I can find some good stuff on sale.
What's the point of this topic, then? Please help me find good sub-$5 deals online that I can buy in preparation for this!

Here's one I found on the LEGO.com site; it's just mini-figs, but $3 for 16 figures is kind of neat:
http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Minifigures-Series-6-8827There are also some "mini-sets" that are $5 each... if I could qualify for free shipping they might work too:

POSSIBLE OPTION: buy 16 $5 sets and 6 $3 16-minifig packs and then kind of combine them so that each kid gets one $5 boat or train or car or whatever, plus 6 random mini-figs. That means I could only give out 16 things, though; I feel like I would run out super quickly in that case. Especially if word gets out that HEY THIS GUY'S GIVING AWAY FREE LEGOS.
Any ideas?
