SALT WORLD OMNIJAM - NOVEMBER 11th - 18th

what the hell is an omnijam??

it's a rad jam where you can make anything you want for it! make a boardgame, a story, a videogame, a song, or anything you want! (fun fact denzquix came up with the idea)

how do you even come up with a theme for something like that

we're going to be using denzquix's horsename generator masterpost for theme ideas! there's plenty to select from!

RULES:

1. everything in your game must be alloted during the allowed time period
2. you must post in the profile of the racehorse you built your piece of media around
3. you may submit as many things as you'd like
4. thats it!!!!
5. there are no other rules!!

remember, this is supposed to be fun and laid back! don't be too stressed out over anything!

i hope you like the new omnijam idea! be sure to make a bunch of stuff!

I am curious about how literal you mean by rule 2. Like, does that mean making it clear which race-horse name we are using? Or is there going to be a facebook page for each horse and we have to literally post our entry right on that page.

I found a race-horse that has inspired me, and I am rather tempted to try and make multiple entries for that same horse, which seems like it is allowed given how ambiguous rules 2 and 4 are. I just want to make sure I have these rules clear before deciding to commit to this 100%

Also, I am personally a bit weary about rule 6. I mean it SAYS there are no other rules, but there is no rule 3. It skips straight from rule 2 right to rule 4. So I don't know if rule 6 means there really IS no rule 3 whatsoever, or if rule 6 applies to rules 1 through 5 and rule 3 is just some kind of SECRET rule that still totally counts as one of the rules despite nobody mentioning what that rule actually is.

there should be a racehorse profile for each racehorse? (e.g. http://www.equibase.com/profiles/Results.cfm?type=Horse&refno=7708277&registry=T ). if there isn't that's fine.

Ah alright. So we just find and post the link to the page of the specific horse we want to use, just to confirm/prove that the thing we are basing our entry on is a name given to an actual horse.

That makes sense, since it doesn't limit what we can choose from to only what names were already posted in that other topic. That was the only aspect of this jam I really needed confirmation on.

I think he is also confused by the wording of the "post in the profile" requirement.

As long as you link to the actual profile, and the entry itself is named and themed around the profile you chose, however you choose to put your entry up should be fine by these rules right?

Also to everyone else visiting this topic: Are we the only two folks planning on making entries for this thing? I'm not as far as I would like at this point, and just want to know how desperately I need to prioritize getting this thing working and submitted actually on time.
