Takes your post seriously: Still too broad. People will still bring up the name or something and complain. We need to end this discussion by coming up with a concrete name and putting it to as fair a vote as possible.
That's fine, the post was mostly meant to be taken seriously. I am just saying it from the standpoint that everybody has their own opinions regardless of where the consensus lies. The question is what do we really want the new name to prioritize the most? I do not think picking the name based on what gets the fewest number of people complaining about it will actually translate to us ending up with the name that is actually best suited for the website/community as a whole.
For one thing, picking the name least associated with what the website used to be called is invariably going to have people complain about it not being at all related to what the website used to be, and thus they will start suggesting various ways to combine words that start with the letter 'g' with words that start with the letter 'w'.
The way I see it, anybody that suggests something like that is invariably unaware of how important it is for us to
not be tied back to the website we used to be. Any name that even comes close to doing that, I am personally going to complain about invariably and vehemently.
Thus if the goal really is to use a name that absolutely nobody will complain about, then logic dictates that we have already failed before we have even begun to try.
