russell brand is offputting at first because he seems exactly like the obnoxious, opulent mainstream fashion scumbag that would attend an event such as that - and his shows and book etc, are all pretty shitty - but whenever i see him in interview he comes across really well. i mean he's the sort to go around dating katy perry or whatever but i appreciate that he roots his wacky persona in kindness. it's unexpected. too late for him to ditch all the shitty stuff he's done though i guess. i've never really watched his stand up, but it'd probably be the most tolerable way to take him other than late night interviews or whatever.

i'd say most of his stuff in front of any adoring audience is pretty intolerable, but when he's up against an indifferent or hostile one, he can be amazing. his old radio show where his co-host was a (non-famous) friend who knew him well, wasn't impressed by him and liked to call him out on his bullshit is still the best thing he's been involved with

Life summary 13/9:
<ol><li>Just finished my first academic paper. Not sure if I am proud of it or if I think it's a bag of shit. Either way I feel like a huge weight has just been lifted off my shoulders.</li>
<li>I am going home tonight to see my family for the first time after a year of seriously falling out with my mother and being banished from the North.</li>
<li>I am off work for 10 days. So is my lady.</li>
<li>The game jam appears to be turning out to be a good idea!? We can have more of these right?</li>
<li>I am gonna queue with all the awful "gamers" on Monday night to get my GTAV preorder. I don't care what anyone thinks. I am shamelessly excited.</li>
</ol>OKAY?

I pre-ordered it yesterday and the guy at the desk suggested I show up at nine and wait until midnight and I suggested he fuck off I'm not sitting with that many "hardcore gamers" my motherfucking head would explode.

I've been home on medical leave getting treated for my carprel tunnel because a doctor I had to go to for a physical in order to work in brazil suggested I do so before I can work. Anyways long story short I've been home for awhile and got those nerve tests done with the little prongs I forgot what they called it and wed the doc decided to try to give me cortezone shots in my wrists. I've done it one other time, it kind of worked for a couple months but this time it didn't take. He told me to let him know if he hit a nerve when he was doing it but I didn't feel that at all.

The shots worked for like three hours and then went away and my symptoms came back, I called the dr. office and let them know and the RN told me that sometimes the shots take one or two days to take. Its been two. Last night my fucking neck started killing me like someone was stabbing me in it with a pin needle and it still is. I couldn't move my head and was hunched over. Its slightly better now but I can still barely move my head.

Something they were worried about when I got my MRIs and those other tests was a small scar on or near my c3 spinal chord which both doctors said is usual and I shouldn't worry about. The first one gave me a couple different MRIs and when I asked about it said he was looking for Multiple Schlorosis.

Does anyone here know about MS? Does this sound like its related or that the doc might've hit a nerve? Or maybe its some dumb unrelated shit that'll go away? Its pretty damn persistant and I'll prolly bring it up when I call monday if it doesn't go away but I don't wanna spend even more time off of work at home doin even more tests if I just pulled my neck or something.

the tragic thing about suicide is that it doesn't end the pain, it distributes it to other people

Which game? I have a Vita and want more stuff to play on it (after I finish Antiphona so I can switch back to my US memory card, it's kind of a pain swapping them)
I love this hobby - stealing your mother's diary

Here's a dumb little thing I made for a class project earlier this summer. Took me a couple of days in Processing, pretty much the only game design related crap I've done in practically a decade. The source code is terribly sloppy, I could do a lot better now after having more practice in Java and OOP best practices.
