All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros. (1986) was an
officially-sanctioned ROM Hack of the original Super Mario Bros. for the Famicom Disk System

it was created as a
contest prize for the listeners of a
late-night radio show in Japan

Super Mario Bros. Special (1986) was a
officially-licensed sequel to Super Mario Bros. created by
"HudsonSoft" & exclusive to the NEC-PC8801/Sharp X1 series of Japanese home computers

it was 1-player only (no Luigi!!) and borrowed elements from the original
Donkey Kong & (non-Super)
Mario Bros. arcade games, and had a power-up very much like the P-Wing that turned up later in SMB3

but enough about officially-licensed stuff... let's see some various
bootleg marios created for long-defunct home computers...
